I want to state that I also have a GM Mage/Eval/Medi/Sword/Tact guy
before all you mages start to flame me :)
Life as a fighter in UO is really annoying, my fighter (a fencer) has a
very high parrying (almost master) already and is gm fencer/tact but
playing with
this char is very time-consuming.
1. Armor, Weapons and Shield :
Well I need a lot of Armor and other stuff for this char to play, no big
problem but after 1 hour of fighting my way through monsters my armor
has
dropped from 53 (or 48 with archers) to a lame 44 (39) meaning my armor
needs repair badly. Well no big deal I have a GM Smith but when I
repair my stuff I always weaken the items durability and therefore
slowly destroying it :(( I want the "You repair the item without
weakening" back !
lets say as GM smith you should be able to do it.Imagine you repair your
stuff every day at least 3 times you can be sure its destroyed after 2
weeks.
2. Healing and Anatomy
As a pure Fighter I need to have some healing and anatomy, that comes to
the most annoying nerf. I am not the macro type of player and therefore
I
use healing/anatomy whenever needed but doing so raises my INT nearly
every 20 bandages/Anatomy uses dropping my STR or DEX. Last day I
raised 4 INT in only 20 minutes :((( This took me 4 hours of fighting
weak monsters/animals to get INT back down. Why don't you make a popup
box that lets you choose what stat to drop (currently its random).
Sometimes I only fight using fencing/tactics/parrying (no INT at all)
and STR and
DEX are just changing numbers (INT staying up).
3.Stamina Drop
Well last but no least this damn stamina drop is also very annoying.
When my mage (25 DEX) gets hit with an Flamestrike doing 40 damage his
stamina drops like 4 or 5 points, but if my well trained and fast
fighter
gets hit with the same amount of damage he loses like 40 !! stamina
making him slow like hell. OSI told me stamina loss is a percentage from
your
maximum stamina, well that's stupid like hell ! It should be a
percentage of the damage you take but not of the amount you have
I hope that someone from OSI might read this and think about it. But I
would also like to hear your comments.
Cya all
Personally, I wish they'd do away with the variable stats
and have it be static.. you choose your stats at character
creation time, and they don't change, except under some
very special circumstances.
I hated having to manage my stats. I tried the pure
fighter and gave up healing as it raised my int like
no tomarrow. Only a powergamer can manage the stats
effectivily in this game.

Nonsense. The best thing about UO (well, one of the best things) is
that any character can, at any time, be whatever he or she wants.
If I want the Great Bob to abandon the bow and become a mage, I don't
have to delete him. I don't lose his history, his character, those
things that makes him unique. I don't have to say "well, time to start
a new character".
It allows for a maximum amount of growth. Frankly, i look forward to
seeing where my character is going to go from here.

Don't tell me my opinions are nonsense. I'll get a complex, and
then I'd sue you for it. :)
My point is you need a modicum (sp?) of str inorder to survive.
If I wanted to build a pure "helper/healer character", I'd have
25 str and would die when I got stuck on a bush... as in the bush
would kill me.
Say your skills were..
anatomy/healing/magery/meditation/music/provocation
and peacekeeping. You're playing a healer/helper type. Your stats are
100 dex, 100 int, 25 str. The stat game/management is a little out of
wack, but that's my opinion.
All fighters are 100/100/25 or you aren't gonna be much of a fighter.
I don't know, but I think there should be something a bit different.
