Jack Benny said he healed 80 point a bandage.

Other night on Baja, ran into a guy trying to get his parry up by fighting
wyverns. He said, "Don't worry about me, GM healer". Proceeded to whack a
number of lizards in hand to claw combat and never failed to cure poison
when he had to.

Did he have a staff or wand? Could have been one of Greater Heal. Also, potions.

Don't know if the patch about healing has gone in yet, which might allow a high
dex player to heal faster than 15 seconds.....
Can you heal someone and remain hidden? Might have had a buddy around?

Potions wouldn't do it, I don't think. 10 seconds between them, and only
about ~30 points per wouldn't cut it.Plus that would get really expensive.

The patch is in, but it doesn't seem to affect the time. It's supposed to,
but on my 100 dex character, I don't notice it. (though I haven't timed it)
*However* the patch is also supposed to allow high dex to compensate for
finger slips, and it does so, *immensely*. As others have testified, in
constant slip mode (being beaten on by something fast), I can still heal
about 20-30 points per bandage with only 50 healing/50 anatomy.

Nope. Healing "unhides" you.

There are a couple things he can do. First off he can be a mace fighter to
lower your stamina and slow down the rate you actually make contact with
him. You can douse Total refreshes to cure that.

Second, a GM healer with GM anatomy like one of my town fighter guildmates
can heal heavy. He rarely fails. He probably doesn't need GH's against a
swordsman.

Third, the trick to getting him may be to step in with katana and step out
away. If your stamina is full and your dex is higher you can possibly get
swing before he does damage to you and you move away a step to not let him
get the first contact. You may need a quick first damage to be heavier.

Fourth, you may need more dex to overcome his ability to heal faster. For
instance if you use a weapon that contacts at a higher rate you could
possibly cause him a few more slips in healing. I have never tried my
dagger of vanquishing, but with a deadly poison and if handled by my town
fighter swordsman it may work (Basic daggers do so little damage that I
doubt you could actually kill the guy). Katanas are generally fast so what
is your dex?

In general it seems that if you get a person down into the low HP region
they have a more difficult time healing. Also, knock some of his stamina
away and he will have a more difficult time healing. You may wish to be
more hesitant on doing that sort of thing unless you actually make a town
fighter like it sounds he has.

With the new healing patch, if he has high dex, the finger slipping wouldn't
affect him much. And viking swords are sllooooooww hitters.
GM healing/GM anatomy gets you up to 80 points healed at a whack.

Yo.

The new healing patch seems to speed up healing quite nicely(i have 95 dex,
thanks to being a fencer :}, appears to shave off a second or two), and the
finger slipping isn't even an issue with high dexterity.

Using a viking sword in combat was our swordsman friend's first mistake..save
crap like that for killing cows, bud, it's too slow to be useful against
another human being.

Even with 100 dex, they're abismaly slow...trust me, my swordswoman gave up
viking swords months ago.

And if you have lower dex, say from having high int(i still don't understand
this one...if you're a fighter, int is all but useless if you want to be any
good at it.), even using a katana won't help you.

Don't believe the hype, they're not that fast without a little dex-speed to
back them up.

And don't attack someone just because they ask you to, unless you know
them...geez....

*Remember, the views i've expressed are my own, and you're free to disagree if
you like, or you could just trust that i've studied the game enough to know
what i'm saying and take them to heart....whatever..*

A couple words before i sign this one off:

Bonuses to higher dex, ranked by fighting skill:

Fencing: More dex=more hits=better chance to actually kill something with the
crap damage our weapons do.

Swords: More dex=more hits=more damage=tearing your enemy a new shine-hole
faster.

Maces: More dex=faster hits=more chances to rip apart your target's
defences=more chances to see them run away when you bust their prized
invulnerable armor apart.

Bows: Duh..as an archer, your life kinda depends on shooting fast, and knowing
how to run good.
