Hes hated on all the shards he sells on, and uses Ultimate freedom to
quickbuy all the vendors out.
People on the MyUO boards have been screaming for this guys head for months.
Im split on this issue, I wish people wouldnt buy from him, but in the same
token, he does make the vendors go insane with high reg spawns.

Being sold on vendors I would assume, I can't imagine anybody needing
multiple piles of 60k reagents for anything.
The upside is that if you go shopping late in the day after they are gone,
the mage shops are brimming with reagents. Makes it really easy to buy in
bulk if you're willing to go late. The downside is that weight isn't a
problem for them, so they don't have to leave the 500 silk and root.
When magic is enabled in towns again on Felucca, I will probably suicide a
few packhorses to discourage the behavior. Won't take but a few exp/eb
combos for people to see the benefit of not hoarding.

The trick is to walk in without anything in your pack except regs to get out
of there with (be it gate or recall). Don't even take money. If a vendor
spawns enough regs, you'll be spending over 2K anyway, and you can use the
empty space in your pack to hold more regs.
Those people with packhorses have to buy some, then some more, then some
more, stopping each time to load it into their packhorse. Where as you can
buy them all at once. of course, if someone else is standing right there,
buy only the reagent you need most first, then buy the next one you need,
etc. But be sure to buy them out before moving onto the next one. I hate
seeing black pearl for 13 gps.

and you can go to Fel to buy yours in peace.
Problem is in Oceania Fel the reg spawns suck, the most I have seen on
vendors lataly is 28 of each reg. Trammel is getting between 100-1.2k of
each reg on vendors in Moonglow. Crazy.
-Walrus
Not crazy at all. Reg levels are dependent on numbers of buyers, and
reg sellers in Trammel raise the reg levels to huge numbers while
there are very few Feluccan reg sellers I'd bet.

Actually the trick is to have +10k gold on the packhorse. You can then
select the reagents you want to buy (up to 4000), then while the buy dialog
is still open, take a look what you have to pay and drag the exact amount of
gold from the packhorse into the backpack and then click 'Ok'. And while you
recall out to get more gold, I already emptied them out ;)
It's like buying from Player vendors, you can pay with the money in your
bank box, but with NPC store vendors the value of what you're buying has to
be over 2k, when buyinn anything of value <2k you must have the cash in your
pack, but if you're spending more than that, the vendor will withdraw the
cash direct from your bank.

yeah, and while you're messing around dragging gold from your packhorse to
your pack, Erica will be sucking the vendor dry of reagents, direct from her
bank :)
I usually buy my regs off of a guildmate's conveniently placed vendor
but he was sold out the other day. I had NO problem finding regs on
Atlantic Felucca, to the tune of ending up with over 500 of each in a
matter of minutes. During prime time, no less. Maybe it was just luck.

Ran up to a vendor and did the "vendor buy" thing. While I am sitting on the
+ to buy all a the black pearl, clown runs up, bumps the vendor, blam!
Everything gone, not even a single piece of shade left.
On the bright side, I had my circle of transparancy on and something like
457 mandrake had dropped to the gound, I assume because he was over loaded.
Heck, free drake is nothing to complain about.

Hes cheating. Makes it a no-brainer for me.
Otara
This is the same guy that says that he'll do gold transfers to every
shard on his web page and then in ICQ says he only does shards A, B, and
C.
Thing is he doesn't PLAY the game he only gets on to make money off of
it. Does this violate TOSS?

WRONGO! Buying all but one reg is an asshole thing, as it'll force the
vendor back to 10.
If you buy the vendor out each time, he'll have 9 more reagents next time.
10->19->28->37->46->55 etc. I know this, as I've verified it out to over
100 reagents. Takes quite a while to do... :)

He is speculted to be cheating
i can do what he appears to do without a 3rd party proggie, illegal or
otherwise. It may be an illusion, nothing else.

I had a guy come up and buy one of everything while I had the vendor
trade window open. All my stuff went null. By the time I figured out
what was up, he bought them out. He paid a higher price, but his ploy
was to irritate me so I'd leave.
About buying with a packhorse. I hate shopping for regs, and I use a
lot of them. Once every couple of weeks I take Reggie to the vendor
with about 50K gp on him and buy regs.

This is exactly backwards.
If an NPC merchant sells out their inventory of a particular item, they add
+9 to the next spawn of that item. If they do NOT sell out, they revert to
the initial spawn (10 items).

Yep :)

I have a question, if the vendor has 400 pearl, and only 200 is bought,
are you saying the next time they restock they'll have 10? Or 200
still?
gil
No you can't if it is the one I have seen. It buys out all reagents as fast
as you can scroll down the reagent list *to* the reagents: That fast.
Last time I checked it is only bugged for the last items on the list, ~ash
and silk. Everything else works ok, buy 2 black pearl from a vendor with 10,
next spawn they will have 12.
But the bottom of the list is not even consistant. Sometimes I would buy
them out and only get 1 on the next spawn anyway.

I can make it appear i have done that very thing, without buying the
reags
Actually I'm not entirely sure what happens if you leave some on them, since
I never do it. When I am making the rounds to buy lumber, if I miss a
vendor's spawn cycle they revert to 10 boards, so I projected from there
that if they don't sell the inventory (whether partial or complete) they
revert.
OK, but can you have 472 mandrake drop at your feet tile while doing it? I
suppose you could have a pack with 390 stones in it, be under the influence
of a strength potion so you could move, carry the drake on your cursor, or
something.
I like a practical joke as much as the next guy, but I don't think I would
go to all that trouble. Easiest explaination when someone does something
that is impossible to do with the normal client is; they are using a 3rd
party/cheat or exploit.
