Hi.

I just bought an item from another player yesterday that shows itself as
a pile of bones. When double clicked, it opens up into the standard
coffin. Nothing unusual right? It's transportable. You can store items
in it like a normal chest or pouch. It's the coolest item I've seen in
some time.
Anyone know how rare or valuable an item such as this might be? I only
paid 1500 gp for it, hardly touching my savings, so I feel that, even if
I did get taken somehow, it was well worth the price just for the
experience of seeing this bizarre item. Thanks.

Sorry to say, but those are rather common. You can pick them up for around
300 gold on Pacific shard (not sure if ohers are any different).
But that shouldn't matter, if you are satisfied with your new purchase, then
just hold onto it.

Go out lockpicking and you can bring dozens home in an hour.

I am and I shall. :) It was an item I've never see up to then, and it's
not like I didn't have anything ELSE to spend my gold on(other than my
blank scrolls and regs), so I bought it. Interesting that john flister
says that a lockpick can go out and get many of these over the course of
a day, and yet, this is the first time I've seen one in the 2 years I've
been playing. Common? Perhaps. But if they are, hardly no one ever sells
them. Come to think of it, I've never even seen one in anyone else's
house before....do they decay or something if left outside of a
container? Thanks.

It's not often that you could kill your enemy, wait a while, and get his
bones to store all of your items in in the comfort of your own home....

Nope. They're a static item. Lock it down in your house near the front
door. Great conversation piece.

I have one that has been locked down in the center of my house since I
bought it. It has all the advantages of a chest without blocking line of
sight, and you can still walk across it. I tend to keep things that I
want to remind myself about in it. (Huh, some useless weapons. Have to
remember to sell them at Arms store next time I go... I'll just throw
them in the bones for now.)

And don't worry about the price you paid. If it's worth that to you (and
it sounds like it is) then just enjoy. I paid too much for a staff of
vanq, only to be told that I could have got it for less. Little did he
know that I would have paid more. :-)
