You don't have anywhere to put the feathers...?

Just a newbie question - I often get the message from the subject line
when I use my knife on birds.
Does it mean I need some special container for feathers, or is it just
an interesting way of saying 'you can't carry anymore'? Would be a bit
strange though, 10 feathers more or less shouldn't make a huge
difference :-)

I think that this was originally intended to be a message to tell you
that you were getting close to the weight you could handle, so instead
of taking the feathers, you left them when you skinned the animal.

Problem is that you normally take them when you get this message, so it
can be a bit confusing. All you need to do is drop your feathers into a
pack inside your packpack when you skin the bird. You wont get this
message the next time you skin a bird. Keep dropping your feathers into
the pack.

It's a bug.

It actually means "you're already carrying a pile of feathers in the
main level of your backpack, so rather than make a new pile the features
have been added to that pile."

Cool message, isn't it?

I often got some feathers when I got the message, but not all
(assuming that a bird would always yield 25 feathers). So having a bag
just for feathers really is the solution?
I'll try that. Many thanks for the info!
