daemons to kill. Unfortunately, it turned out that many of my party
did not know a daemon from the Lord of the Abyss. Needless to say,
there was a chorus of OOooOOooOo being sung before very long. Still,
even though I knew better, I decided to try and melee the thing. I
don't really give a damn about fame, and it was so crazy it sounded
like fun. It was targeting someone else, so I decided to try and land
a few whacks.
Me: Oh hell, here goes nothing!
LotA: *cast* *thwack* *cast*
Me: Eek, 80 damage and poisoned! Run away!
LotA: *thwack*
Me: OOooOOooOo
A noteworthy experience, to say the least.

You might dont wanna attack Collector of Souls too :)
Try regular, red deamon they could be melled but with a lot of healing, or
with some help of your guildmates...
Anyways for that hps and fun try Ogre Lords...

ago when I first joind up with a few friends in a Guild. Up untill then I
had mainly stayed above ground since the PK problems where quite bad back
then. So my new Guild Master his wife and another guild mate took off to
Hythloth.
We wander around for a bit didn't manage to find alot to kill so finally we
see this guy hidding behind a wall from a Lord of the Abyss. None of us had
ever seen one before so my GM said hey lets try it. He and his wife rushed
right in and about 10 seconds later before me and the other new guy had a
chance to get up enough courage to go through the door out came 2 ghosts.
By this time the mage in there was back on the move. So we ran in to try and
recover our friends stuff but do to the fact that my GM's wife was not in
the guild I ended up getting flagged. Next thing I know I get hit one time
by the LA and I was down to 1/2 health. Then this guy comes in and just
starts to fire ebolts at me. I did manage to heal and recall back out before
he got me though. We ended up spending the next hour or so trying to get our
friends out of there.
Well since then I have never been down there again. Although I would like to
try it again with a bit more expirence group of hunters.

Maybe LFE can hook up with you some time (tomorrow night maybe?). We
are experienced hunters, and we are a good sized group, but we'll still
die a zillion times so don't bring anything too good along lol

months, I have to say it was fun. It was nice to see a monster that
inspired reactions of "Holy SHIT! Run away!" instead of "Mine! Mine!"
for a change.

Metor/chain lighting though the wall. Another tactic is to use some bait
behind the wall and then blade it until it's mana runs out and it can't
fight them off.

I haven't tried it on anything higher then a deamon, but at least though
deamon level monsters mana drain and mana vampire actually work. EI will
give you percentages of mana remaining. For something like a deamon they
have ~300 mana and less then 6% mana left on them means they won't dispell.
