The crime shows suggest auto-erotic something as another option.
Which would not be something to tell the world about, I guess.
Not that I'm saying that's it, I don't even know the guy.

Ah, didn't think of that. I guess that would be accidental suicide.

Caine from the old King Fu series? Frankenstein from the old Death Race
2000? He was in a lot of crappy stuff.

Would that count as suicide, though, or accident? It should be
classed as the tyical accidents happening at home that are caused by
the people doing something stupid (like climbing onto furniture
instead of a secure ladder, and then falling off).

I am aware of the series, I just didn't watch it (or negligible
amounts). Not my kind of thing.

I do recall having seen the face elsewhere sometimes. But that's it.

Well, accident probably. Death by misadventure is what the medical
examiner would probably say. I suppose for it to be called suicide, it
must be intentional.

Doesn't tell me anything.
I think the movies or series where he did a lead role are just not
the type I'd watch.

That's what I thought.

I did not like the Kung Fu stuff, but the actor had a weird way of
moving, somehow very elegant.
Haven't heard of Circle of Iron. I did like Kung Fu when I was a kid
though.

Just to resurrect this and answer a dated topic, the act is called (auto)
erotic asphyxiation and accidental death in this case is often referred to
as autoerotic fatality. It isn't suicide but is often mistakenly identified
as so.

Why do you know so much about that? ;)
Funnily enough I learned a lot of what I know about auto-erotic
asphyxiation that here at rec...dragons back when someone came on to
announce that a dragon had died in such circumstances (
http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.games.computer.ultima.dragons/msg/3a54d46abae18f3a
), As a result when I first heard about the Carrradine case I had to
wonder if that was the cause before I heard any speculation giving
that as the cause.
Also, I am still reading this group, I just don't post much...

*shifty eyes*
Actually...
In the late 90's I worked in a library for three consecutive summers.
While conducting inventory there was a book on the shelf titled "Why
Suicide?" in thick gold letters on a vibrant red book. The colours
caught my eye and considering the topic I figured there was a reason it
was designed to be so noticeable.
So I checked it out and read through it. It was obviously all about
suicide: Demographics, methods that were commonly used etc.; But I also
read all about auto erotic asphyxiation, huffing and a whole slew of
other non-suicidal ways people die that is confused with suicide.

Those canadian insiders, bleh!
I guess most of us learned about Dolphinsex here.
It is weird, I could not even remember the posting you cited. I must
have been gone during that time.

Less reading, more posting then! ;)
Actually if you look at the thread you responded to one of my posts in
it (where I made an unintentional pun about hang ups). The memory is a
tricky thing, arguably its less what we forget and more what we
remember that is mysterious. I have forgotten lots of what I posted
here but I can remember some stuff with strange clarity.
