I am a new dragon. I thought I would introduce myself. First and
foremost I am an artist, I work in vector format primarily but I am
skilled in many different medias. I am a fan of music and of course
video games. At the forefront of that is of course, Ultima. I have
known about the dragons for quite some time and felt like with the
upcome Shroud of the Avatar I felt that now was a good a time as any to
become a member. If any of you have any projects you'd like some help
artwise I am always willing.

I think this is the first time in at least a decade I have connected to usenet.
Anyway, that's a little about me. I look forward to meeting and playing
with all of the dragons.

Hello!

I'm fairly new too, only found this a few years ago, through Usenet
I think. Only got broadband long after that, so joining on the
website depended on help from residents here. :)

Wow.

I just started playing Ultima 7 again. The first I encountered in
the series, and the one I play again now and then. I looked at the
others, but the earlier ones can't compare with the comfort of
clicking on possible dialogue, and the later ones, well, whenever I
started U8 I quickly exited, feeling lonely and not like finding out
where what was going on.

Back when I first played U7, unfortunately it was the German version
(I have long since gotten a proper one). The translation was not
very good; they translated Gargoyle with (in German) water-spouter,
so the guy I used to live with and I went around the water trough
wondering what they were talking about, never knowing that they
meant the dead red guy in the stable... Discovering they meant
Gargoyle and an actual creature was a real Aha! moment, but I don't
remember how it came about.

Later, "Pick Item Carefully To Keep Going" was translated with (in
German) "Choose Object With Thought". Drove me nuts!

Old times! ;P

Dost though remember thy favorite spot in Britannia?

Hm. I don't think I have one myself!

Hello and welcome!

While you have known about the Dragons for a long time, I don't know
if you've ever lurked here. Unfortunately not much goes on here these
days, so it's certainly a big surprise to find someone new.
(Apparently we do still have a greeting team.) But a few of us have
been trying to post a bit recently, and may stir up some action again.
Feel free to contribute whatever the heck.

And don't think it has to be about Ultima. Yeah, Ultima does come up,
but we just talk about whatever we feel like, and it isn't always
pretty. :-) So feel free to bring up whatever you like.

Where abouts are you from anyway? I'm in the U.S. of A. Played my
first Ultima (UW1) in '98 I think. Joined the Dragons... um, I always
forget, but I think it's been over 10 years now. (I've saved my
original posts - I could look it up but that would make too much
sense.) I haven't actually played tons of the Ultimas, but fell in
love with the Underworlds, and some day I intend to get through
everything. Really. No, really, some day I will. It's on The List.
When I'm not so busy. I'm always busy. But really... some day...
