there is dire need for the Dungeon Siege 1.1 update, all the links I
am finding are either dead or wanting a registration and or money.
Does anyone have it somewhere?

I just went to http://www.patches-scrolls.de/ search for it which took me
to a dlh.net link which took me to filefront.com where I was able to
download it (ds111_1462e.zip) albeit with a slowish link.

Provided 1.1.1462 is the full version of 1.1 then you can get it at
http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=765 by clicking download now, then
"download without logging" in at the bottom of the next screen.

You should've just asked me. I downloaded it like 4 years ago and
still have the thing. :-) (I believe I got it from FilePlanet, which
I see is now requiring registration.)

There's usually a way to download from them without registration but it's
rarely easy or obvious. Anyhow, if I couldn't find a way to download it,
I could have uploaded it to somewhere. I'm sure I have a few copies on
various discs. I tend to over-engineer my redundant backups as it were.

It's a strange error. I'm testing this out for the sake of my own
curiosity and it doesn't quite work on my end either. I get the download
window then a message reporting that the file cannot be downloaded from
that location.

I tried it just for fun and what happened is that I was able to
download the one from v.1.1 but the one from v.1.0 just gave me an
error. But that second one is the one I already had.

Well, if you have a 1.0 cd, you need the first one I think, as
somewhere is noted that the 1.1 patch is not cumulative.

patch, didn't have any problems after.
I did notice that your link that you posted was to download the German
version of the patch, yes? That might be an issue. I just checked for
the English one. And, I checked what their site was before and their
downloads used to be hosted on their site. Now it seems they are all
pointing the Microsoft's. Perhaps they are distancing themselves from
DS1?

I mixed up things profoundly. There are two 1.1 patches to different
build numbers.
The first one is a complete patch while the second one is smaller and
not cumulative.
