I'm playing Freedoom (0.5) using prboom under Debian Linux. Right now
I'm at Level 7 "Dead Simple"; on this level, there are many
plasma-firing enemies.

Or at least there used to be; I've toasted them :-) , and I can exit the
level whenever I want; however, there are some items that seem to be in
"secret" areas that I can't get to.

I can see these areas using the IDDT cheat code, and I can even go into
them using the "noclipping" cheat, but I don't want to cheat.

In an attempt to get into the secret areas, I've felt-up so many walls
that the walls are starting to blush ;-)

The secret areas don't open up when you push on their walls, and I can
find no switches that open up those areas. Can someone tell me how to
get into those "secret" areas?

The original "Dead Simple" had a small area only accessible in Deathmatch
- it contains a Deathmatch start. Perhaps Freedoom reproduces that?

I just checked it in a map editor and they do only open in deathmatch
(the triggers are inside the areas themselves)

The fact that there are items in there that aren't marked
multiplayer-only is a bug, albeit a minor one that many other pwads
suffer from.

Thank you Riy, David, and Raymond. You've freed me from having to obsess
about those areas. This also explains why they are not marked secret.
