Subject: [music is music] more than 2 ways to party on election day
there are sooo many ways to party. and i'm not talking about having fun. i'm
talking about doing your American duty and voting today. which can be fun. i
guess. and even if the line is long you must do it. but before you vote you
might want to study your choices a little bit. i personally can't understand
how anyone could be undecided about who to vote for at this point. but if
you are an undecided voter, then maybe you should consider voting for one of
the third party candidates. there are more than 2 ways to party
back in 2000 and again in 2004 i told everyone i could that George W. Bush
was bad news. unfortunately, i was right. and unfortunately, most people
didn't take my advice. i hate to say "i told you so", but i did. so look at
the mess our country is in now. if you voted for Bush, then spank yourself,
and don't enjoy it! i hope you've learned from your mistake.
i'm not going to tell anyone who to vote for this time because i think every
voter should make up their own mind. i just hope that every voter considers
very carefully the choices before voting this time. it really does matter.
alot.
here is some info and my thoughts about the presidential candidates....
DEMOCRATIC PARTY
i will be voting for democrat Barrack Obama. there are many reasons. i think
that it is time for this country to be represented by someone who isn't an
established "Washington player". Obama has been in the Senate long enough to
be effective but not so long that he is entrenched in the old ways of
governing. he can be a new kind of leader. it is time for new ideas. it is
time for a new way of dealing with other countries. more cooperation, less
of the "my way or else" philosophy. it is time to end the Iraq War. it long
past time for America to become the world leader in environmental issues. it
is time end tax breaks for big corporations who pollute. it is time to stop
sending American jobs overseas. and get to back respecting human rights
around the world. it is time to close Gitmo. it is time to repudiate
torture. it is time to respect privacy for everyone. spying on Americans is
not American. it is time for our government to spend more time working for
us and less time treating its citizens as suspects. i think that Barrack
Obama is the right leader to get these things done.
he has a steady temperament. he's thoughtful and intelligent. his political
organization skills were so good that he beat Hillary Clinton. two years
ago, no one would have ever believed that she would not be the nominee.
Obama has proven himself in the world of big-time politics. his organization
is right. he has charisma and true leadership skills. and his policies are
right.
and then there is Obama's first Presidential decision, choosing a running
mate. and he couldn't have done much better. Joe Biden is one of the most
qualified men ever nominated for VP.
...all that stuff is great but the main reason i am voting for Obama is
because James Brown would want it that way. it's time to paint the white
house black.

REPUBLICAN PARTY
i really can't blame anyone for voting for republican John McCain. after
all, he is a true American hero. and at least he is qualified and deserving
(unlike DUBYA). it can never be disputed that McCain endured more pain and
sacrifice for his country while he was in Vietnam than most Americans will
ever experience. and anyone who does that deserves a chance to be President.
his qualifications are immense. the military experience is good but the
Congressional experience is what really counts. McCain has indeed been a
"maverick" throughout most of his political career. often voting against his
own party. he has usually been on the correct side of most issues. i used to
say that John McCain was the republican i could vote for. and maybe i would
have voted for him in 2000. but the Cheney/Bush political hit machine took
away his chance.
in 2000, the George W. Bush political team led by Karl Rove played dirty
tricks to rob McCain of the nomination. then they stole the general election
from Vice President Al Gore. the next eight years have not been so great for
our country. as you know.
in the years since the 2000 election, John McCain has slowly turned around
to become one of the "regular" republicans. he embraced the religious right.
he started changing his stance on issues that would please pro-Bush
republicans. he has basically sold his soul to the devil of politics to get
to the point where he could be nominated. i know some republicans who never
believed that McCain was really loyal to the traditional party platform. so
when he actually got the nomination it was a sign that things aren't what
they used to be in the republican party.
McCain had to support Bush policies to get where he is. vote after vote he
backed up President Bush. and lie after lie Bush and Cheney did whatever
they wanted. starting wars. spying on Americans. torturing prisoners.
trashing the environment. deregulating greedy corporations. rewarding rich
folks. shrinking the middle class. deceiving the public. Bush steered
America in the wrong direction and John McCain was there to power the ship.
every step of the way McCain backed to the White House.
McCain can claim that he will govern differently than Bush all he wants. but
his record speaks for itself. reversing Bush's policies means admitting that
all those votes were mistakes. that won't happen. i firmly believe that a
McCain presidency will not change our country very much at all. granted,
McCain would be a superior leader compared to DUBYA. but the policies that
have been so wrong for our country will not change very much.
and the war will continue. McCain has always been bullish on the Iraq War
and i don't see that changing. i can't vote for that. and John McCain's plan
for fixing health care in America is very bad in my opinion. his plan would
give an opening for employers to stop providing coverage. that could create
a wave of uninsured workers. that is bad for everyone.
republicans always claim that they are for less taxes and smaller
government. but their policy actions are consistently in the opposite
direction. their ideas of "smaller government" always seems to mean cuts in
programs for the poor and needy. pork spending is rampant in bill after bill
yet when the republicans controlled both the white house and congress
spending was worse than ever. and nothing got solved as far as long term
problems with the entitlement programs. where's that philosophy of
responsible fiscal policy?
if government is supposed to stay out of our lives then why use it to get
involved in personal issues like marriage and abortion. the anti-gay
platform that is promoted by republicans is absolute discrimination. i can't
vote for that.
but even IF John McCain were right on the issues, i still couldn't say that
voting for him would be the responsible thing to do. that's because he has
had some health problems in the past. he might die. and what if President
McCain were to die.....
oh no! McCain's running mate is sooo not qualified. republican VP nominee
Sarah Palin is only a few years removed from her first public office. she
was the mayor of a small town in Alaska. and now she is the governor of a
state with fewer people than New York City. she thinks she has foreign
policy experience but she doesn't even know the names of most world leaders.
she thinks that the VP controls the US Senate. wrong. there are many more
examples of the unpreparedness of Governor Palin. but i'm not going waste my
energy going thru all of them. the only thing that's important is that Sarah
Palin is a perfect example of the how John McCain would govern. its a
knee-jerk reaction. its political pandering. its a poorly researched
decision. and he's a sucker for a hot babe.
John McCain is too old to pick a VP nominee that is so unprepared to be
President. on his first Presidential decision, John McCain failed. i will
say one good thing about Palin. at least she is a Van Halen fan.
i cannot vote for John McCain. but i think he would be a good president.

i vote in Virginia and the US Senate race in Virginia hasn't really been all
that exciting this year. mostly because former bad governor Jim Gilmore
really has no chance to beat former good governor Mark Warner. but there is
a third party candidate that has her own theme song. which makes her
entertaining enuff to consider. hear Independent candidate Gail Parker's
theme song HERE
that's enuff jibber-jabber from me. now...
GO VOTE!!!!
it is VERY IMPORTANT
speaking of Presidents..... see my pics of Bill Clinton HERE
