Word on the chessboard is that the miscreant duo is leaving TTU and
going to a university in St. Louis. Will TTU pull the pug on its chess
program or will it re-brand the program. Paging Phil

Webster University is really trolling on the regional university
level. Even TTU was a class above this place. What's next when this
contract isn't renewed, a community college in Arizona or New Mexico

No chess club at Webster. Virgin territory for the duo.

A website announcing the move states:

"Grandmaster Susan Polgar, world and Olympiad champion, and her Susan
Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE) soon will relocate to
Webster University from Texas Tech University. All members of the
reigning national collegiate champion Texas Tech "A" chess team will
transfer to Webster and be enrolled in the next academic year."

Is it really true that all these chess players would transfer from a
recognized educational institution like Texas Tech University to a no-
name podunk school like Webster?

Do these two have serious problems when it comes to interpersonal
relationships? It is alleged that TTU told them to get their ass out
of Dodge. Too much acrimony. Hard to believe, aye?

Please note: There have been a spate of "Fake Sam Sloan" postings in
the last few days, ever since I filed with the FEC to become US
President. Regular readers of these groups will realize that these
postings are fake. I will not respond to them because that will
emphasize them and attract attention to them. The problem is that
those who are not regular readers of these groups will think that the
real me is posting this stuff.

The prime suspects for these posting is, again, Paul Truong or anybody
else closely associated with Susan Polgar. One way to tell the
difference between the real and the fake postings is the fake postings
will never say anything negative about Polgar or Truong. Thus, the
reader can be sure that this posting is by the Real Sam Sloan because
of above where it says that Webster University, the new employer of
Polgar and Truong, is a "Noname Podunk School". Since neither they nor
anybody associated with them would ever say that, you can be sure that
this posting is by the real me.

Perhaps you have overestimated the number of people involved in the
chess 'A' team.

I went to Texas a couple of years ago in early May and found that
despite the season, daytime temperatures were already in the 90s.
Another possible reason to leave Texas is that because everything is
so big there, it is hard to reach across the much wider tables to
promote a five-inches-tall pawn to a ten-inches-tall queen, then
announce loud enough to be clearly heard by your opponent --who is
likely wearing a huge stetson hat-- seated fully eight feet away,
'check!' OTOH, the trophies are bigger -- bring a dolly.

Webster University is locally known as a diploma mill.

In Texas games feature not just measly pawn sacrifices.
Players routinely sacrifice fifty or sixy MAJOR pieces and hundreds
and hundreds and hundreds of minor pieces just to be able to give a
single check in a single game!!
