Philidor was very much opposed to the idea that a player could have more than one queen on the board at one time, feeling that 'polygamy' violated Christian values. Nonetheless the polygamy idea on the chessboard caught on and Alekhine had a famous game , Game 11 of the 1927 match with Capablanca where there were 4 Queens on the board at one time. Does anyone know of other famous ploygamist World title match games matching that?
