I think you said they will play 40 rounds ?

Karpov has a lot of draws , that amazes me more when they draw in
these fast games because you can make a mistake so much easier ......

That one lady was on a roll .....

Carlsen , what can you say , Kasporov has really done a good job making
him even better than what he already was ..

Here was the set-up round: Nice draw by Judit with black against
Carlsen, and same for Morozevich with black for a whole point against
Svidler, and Ivanchuk also with black against Dominguez. But this
meant Carlsen was way up front, and needing a draw brought it home.

Great tournament which shoulda been on tv. //Phil Innes

Very nice game by Polgar, eliminating Anand from a chance at first.
That damn Rossolimo!~ Even so, Vishy played it better than I did
against Sam Palatnik at blitz, even so, he lost his marbles to Judit.

After 39 rounds, Anand trails Carlsen by 2.5 points. In round 40 of
42, Judit defeated Anand while Carlsen defeated Aronian. This sealed
the deal for Carlsen as he leads by 3.5 points with just 2 rounds to
go.

Norway Post

Norwegian chess ace Magnus Carlsen (19) on Wednesday won the World
Blitz Championship 2009 - FINAL in Moscow, and became the world's
youngest world blitz champion, NRK reports.

After 40 of the total of 42 games were completed, Caarlsen led by 3.5

- This is unbelievable. Carlsen is the youngest world blitz chess

I am constantly in touch with Kasparov
Interview with Magnus Carlsen after the Tal Memorial
Presented by Chessdom.com

How is the Tal Memorial ranked compared to other super tournaments?

Very, very high. I was glad to play in Russia's capital in the memory
of the great chess player. I liked this tournament not only because
the organizers collected almost all strongest players in the world.
Similar happens in Wijk Aan Zee and Linares. I was very happy to be in
touch with rich chess and cultural traditions in Moscow, and Russia as
a whole.

Are you familiar with the work of Tal, who by the way is the youngest
world champion?

Of course, I know and have analyzed the games not only of Tal, but
also the works and style of play of all world champions and many
strong grandmasters.

How would you explain the fact that your first part of Tal Memorial
was not energetic? After the strong performance in Nanjing, which you
won with big advantage ahead of competition, similar was expected in
Moscow.

For a good game to happen should come together at the same time
several important components. The first few days I played sick. I was
obviously not well and this state I lacked energy. If you do not feel
well, you cannot play for the win.

I am playing in London Chess Classics 2009 where I was invited, in the
beginning of 2010 I am playing in Corus Wijk Aan Zee.

What are your chances for the World Champion title? Is the current
cycle your star moment?

For me more important are short term plans, I do not look that far
ahead. What will happen, will happen.
