Okay.
Are you a citizen of this country?
No, I am not.
What is your citizenship?
I'm sorry?
Where are you a citizen of?
I am stateless.
You are stateless?
Yes.
Okay.
I am a permanent resident of the United States, but I am stateless.

I am not certain whether he can be deported back to Vietnam.

That is probably the reason why he does not feel in any danger.

They could deport home to North Vietnam. The north is under Communist
control.

So is the south, east and west. There is no longer a division
between North and South Vietnam. There is just Vietnam, officially the
Socialist Republic of Vietnam. They had a war to settle that issue.
Ended over 30 years ago. The whole country is under Communist Party
control.

They can revoke his residence status and tell him to get his ass out
of Dodge.

You are thinking of North and South Rhodesia, which are now Namibia
and Congo..

No, you are thinking of North and South America, which used to be
entirely separate continents but recently developed a land bridge
between them. ;-)

No - you are both wrongo, everyone knows north/south = mouth ...

North/south/east/west is sometimes called 'news' but really stands for
the british empire & should be coloured pink .....

Wrong on both counts. Namibia was formerly South West Africa. I
forget whether North Rhodesia or South Rhodesia is now Zimbabwe.

The country which used to have just the name "Rhodesia" (the
southernmost of the two, but not called "South Rhodesia") is now
called "Zimbabwe." What used to be called "Northern Rhodesia" is now
called "Zambia."

I've been in very few countries in Africa, but one of them is Zambia.

How the hell did Colonel Kurtz manage to sail all the way from
Cambodia to Zimbabwe?

One of the things I found interesting was that I did not know you did
not have to be a US citizen to file for bankruptcy, just a permanent
resident. I would have assumed Truong's multiple bankruptcy filings
were fraud, based on the fact he is not a citizen. But that is a
shooting from the hip sort of thought.

I have no opinions either way on this issue, and I suppose the more I
think about it, you should be able to declare some form of bankruptcy
anywhere you can own a home or earn money..... kinda strange how you
have to think about law to understand it, sort of like chess.... Phil
and Sam, we've identified your deficit........
