Goto my chess site

http://www.uni-klu.ac.at/users/gossimit/chess.htm

and download testpgn.pgn there.
It contains the Bratko-Kopec & more than
6000 other test-positions!

GO

PS: There are some new files on my
annofritzed and book-related chess page!
(e.g. Euwe/Kramer: the middlegame is
expanded!, Lev Alburt's 300 most important
positions & ideas....)

Enjoy!

Hi Guenther,

I visited your site some days ago and in fact did enjoy what I found
there! Some old well known things, like positions from the classic
Nomzowitsch "My system". It caused me to have a fresh look at this
book which I once read when I began to play some chess, without being
able to stop... ;-)
Positions from other classics like Spielmann's "art of scrifice"...

Nice tactical testsuites, not only the well known ones, but thousands
of test positions.

Nice endgame samples...

I only regret that I will hardly have the time to look at it all...

And one minor drawback: Many positions have the main move only in the
game header, not as move performed within a game score.
This makes it hard to perform automatical Junior/Hiarcs/Fritz analysis
on the positions: you have to convert them one by one manually before.

Any elegant solution for this?

Thanks a lot for providing this site: it was (and will be) a pleasure
to visit it!

Regards
from Dirk
