2-Way, 3-Way Game Try?
Partner and I have been playing 2-Way game try, where after 1M - 2M - new suit by 1M bidder shows shortness and - next suit (2S/2N) asks what suit P would accept a game try in. We are wondering if there is an approach that keeps this structure and allows 1M bidder to specifically ask P for shortness?... more »

All vul, North dealer, Monday morning duplicate, playing 2/1, good club game and strong opposition: AKxx AQx AKJ10x Q Qxxx Kxxx xx Kxx W N E S - 1D P 1H P 2S P ? If the auction starts this way, how should it proceed? Would you open 2C instead? If so, how does the auction go?... more »

Lead problems.
Two difficult (?) leads. 1) I hold clubs AK10753 - Partner QJ98 . Neither of you have outside entry or trick. Opponents in 3NT. Right or wrong I lead Ace.- dummy small singleton. Partner plays 8 ( right or wrong? How do we play. 2) Opponents bid weakly to 6NT. You are on lead with Axxx in Spades. Nothing outside. Partner has KJxx and declarer QX, with 14 tricks on top outside. What do I lead. If I lead AS - I may be setting up King if with declarer as expected from bidding.... more »

Two Decisions
1: Regional A pairs event. You are all vul in third and there are two passes to you. You hold AKJT xxx Kx xxxx Your partner was free to open fairly light, so you are not obligated to bid to protect. You are playing 12-14 1NT, five-card Majors. So, what do you do? Pass 1C 1S 1NT... more »

You hold:
Yes, another discussion with partner. Nobody vul, RHO opens a strong NT and you hold: ? 8 6 ? A J 7 6 ? A K 4 ? K Q 10 5 You are playing Meckwell, double is not penalty. (shows both majors or a long minor) 2C would show Clubs and a Major 2NT would be minors 2H would be natural... more »

pre-emps

Should dummy tell partner his is in his hand?
What is the rule/etiquette for the dummy when his partner is in his hand and asks for a lead from the dummy? Should dummy tell partner he is in his hand or simply pull the card and wait for the opponents to do so?
