i'm looking for a scrabble type game played with ROUND scrabbled type
numbered tiles.
the game is played on a "go-style" board and the round tiles are
placed face up on the board. the goal is to create words by moving ANY
number of tile in a straight line(no jumping over or moving other
tiles out of the way) either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
when the word is formed, the player removes the tiles from the board
to add his score.
this game came out in the 80's and was voted game of the year by some
magazine
Go to google and search for "board game forum".
This, of course, will point you to boardgamegeek.com (or
boardgame.geekdo.com - same thing-ish).
This sounds a little like Lewis Carroll's Chess Wordgame:

But I don't think that won any awards.

The game you are looking for is Wordsearch. The 1988 game is from
Pressman and Waddingtons. More info can be found by searching for the
game at boardgamegeek.com
Mike
Are you thinking of Wordsearch by Pressman?
