Alas, GDW is no more. Europa is still being published in its old format.
I also believe they are now doing WW1 the same way with "Home Before the
Leaves Fall" for the 1914 West Campaign.

Europa is _very_ alive!!

However, GDW is no longer "alive".

A new company, GRD (Game Research Design), has taken over the Europa games.
Their web page is:

http://www.grdgames.com/

They have issued one new Europa Game (Second Front, allied invasion of
Europe) and have re-issued many games with rules improvements. They are
currently re-working Fire in the East.

They publish a magazine (The Europa Magazine) six times a year.

GRD is also working on two new series - The Great War (World War I) and
Glory (Pacific theater, World War II).

The "whole enchilada", Grand Europa, is still something to happen in the
future - after the re-issuance of the full Europa series with the new
"collectors edition" rules.

Clarification: This makes it sound like GR/D is a brand-new company
which was established after GDW's demise. It isn't; the _Europa_
system moved to GR/D in 1985, and GDW continued, _Europa_-less, until
1996.

I wouldn't call it "tactical level"...

Did "Spain and Portugal" have a Spanish Civil War scenario? If it didn't,
then "For Whom the Bell Tolls" should be considered a "new game" as well.

I talked to the GR/D reps at Origins; they said the next three Europa
titles will be the Fire In The East remake, Lightning War (a remade
combination of Their Finest Hour and The Fall Of France), and a Scorched
Earth remake. (What does that leave, besides "The Urals"?)

Why is it every other game has a new name, but Narvik is still Narvik?

It's just (last month) been published in the Collectors Edition format
as Storm Over Scandinavia.

The Glory and Great War Series (WWII Pacific and WWI Europe) are well
worth a look as well.
