8th move in game 13 of the 82nd match of 25 points.

The previous turn gnubg was on the bar, rolled 64 and played 21/15. I wasn't fully focusing on the game and without animation, the board didn't seem to change. So, I thought it had danced and on my turn, I made the 4 point with 41.

It doubled. I took. And when it put two of my checkers on the bar in a flash, I was literally startled :)))

I play very fast with my restless finger often clicking untimely and more than once to move or pick up the dice. I even complained that gnubg wasn't registering the mouse clicks fast enough, causing me to multi-click :)

Ironically, this saves many a misplay each game by giving me a second chance to move correctly before I pick up the dice.

But half of the time it's too late and whether because I misread the dice or was watching the video with the corner of my eye, etc. the blunder is done.

The reason I'm explaining this, is that in the above case for example, if the next roll had worked out better for me, I would be accused of looking ahead and knowingly making a very bad move...

Anyway, I couldn't save the gammon here but managed to win the match, in a weird ending.

With the score being 19 to 20, I had the cube at 4 and gnubg lost a backgammon instead of a gammon by making random moves for the final three rolls.

Apparently, at four rolls prior to the end, it realized that it couldn't save the gammon and was going to lose the match anyway, and started making random moves.

But why didn't it resign?

Why are gnubg's resigning decisions so haphazardly? Does anyone know??
