I meant to say humans can compose, but bots can only play backgammon.

I'm sure more of you petty, sick gamblers and math sucking phd's will
understand than admit.

Regarding the thread title "Humans can compose, bots can only play
music" this is actually may not be so clear cut. There is a field of
computer science "musical intelligence". Very controversial for
composers. The project is called "Emily". You should be able to find
information about it online.

Very, very interesting. Thank you for the info.

However, the real subject here is backgammon. I was just trying to attract attention to the notion of composing versus playing backgammon, through the more identifiable notion of composing and simply playing music.

Apparently you had nothing useful to contribute to the subject from that aspect...??
