Description: Perfect information, pure strategy games.

New MSG Game: Mosaic
New MSG game: Mosaic [link] Mosaic is a game of territory and aggression. Reversi tiles are played on a hex hex board. Multiple flip sequences sometimes occur in one turn. Interestingly, a number of flips may occur after the board has completely filled with tiles, though of course Mosaic is a naturally finite game.... more »

Tether had a problem
I've received a number of compliments about Tether and I've had to inform the well wishers individually that Tether has fallen prey to the law that my most interesting game concepts are also the most vulnerable to flaws. The problem with Tether was that there might be no capturing and both players might not succeed at cordoning off space for themselves. In that case... more »

Move In Synch, In Opposition Game
Here is a game for 2 players. Needed: An n-by-n grid drawn on paper (with an n of at least 8, I suggest). Two markers (such as coins), one for each player. The markers should be small enough to both fit in one square of the grid (possibly by stacking them). Two pencils/pens of different colors. The players start the game by each placing their marker in any square... more »

Simple Card Game Of Ups and Downs
This is a card game for two players. Start with a deck of 2n cards labeled 1 through 2n, one distinct number per card. (n is some number, such as 10.) Shuffle the deck, and deal n cards to each player. Each player secretly arranges their n cards in any order they choose. The players then, without further arranging their cards, take turns... more »

Where have all the detractors gone?
"Psst! Don't feed the troll. If you don't feed the troll, he'll go away." Wrong. I'll stay here and the detractors will find productive ways to occupy themselves, other than hanging out at rec.games.abstract and detracting. -Mark Mark Steere Games [link]
