Hi fellow trax players,
I have finally finished the first edition of my trax puzzle book.
The book contains 50 trax puzzles including solutions.
It can be downloaded for free as a pdf file from http://gnutrax.com/book/

Very nice! A read somewhere that a preponderance of interesting
puzzles is the definitive sign of a game's having become established.
Seems like Trax is heading that way.

If someone downloaded this book and it only contains puzzles but no
solution, cover etc. then please download it again.

I did a stupid mistake the first two hours it was online.

Have anyone ever done a puzzle book for a Mark Steere game? Or as much
as a strategy article?

Seems the world-famous game designer is a bit jealous.

I suggest you start keeping your promise to not post here again, if
you don't enjoy my observations, Mr. Steere.

And because of your gratutious ad hom, I'll repeat it again: To my
knowledge, no one has ever bothered writing a puzzle collection, or
even a strategy article, for one of Mark Steere's games. He can
convince people to implement his games, but works like these require a
community of actual players who like his games enough to go in-depth
on them - I'm not sure that exists.

Good luck recruiting them, Mark Steere. You'll have to turn on your
charm to a few more people. Slightly less time for Mark Steere to be
an ass, that's a good thing.

When the fuck did I say I'd never post here again? Can you provide a
link to that? As I recall, I said I would be taking a vacation, which
I did.

Yep that's right. "To [your] knowledge". Guess what, stupid? My
games and puzzles have been published in Games magazine somewhere
around 15 times. Once again, get your stupid, clueless head out of
your ass!!

I suppose I "convinced" them to do that too, right?

And once again, we are dazzled by the sparkling wit,
rapier-like criticism, and general urbane maturity of... of...
....well whoever it was.

Modest too! A paragon of meekness and humility!

We have a winner!

We see that the '!' player is the winner for getting 5-in-a-row
before the '?' player did.

Well done ! Better luck next time ?

One puzzle that didn't make it to book but still a good puzzle can be
found at http://gnutrax.com/051.png

How solves it first ?

And are these tricky positions in your games intended to showcase
their depth? Or strategy articles? (The kind of basic strategy you get
in an intro-to-this-game article hardly counts).

Very few games get fans with the dedication to make a puzzle
collection. None of your games seem to have. So you try to talk down
games that do. Can't say that kind of behaviour surprises me coming
from you.

Maybe you can figure out some tricky positions while you're fucking
yourself, Vintershitz.

> Very few games get fans with the dedication to make a puzzle

Dedication? Here, let my try and put it all in perspective for you,
Vintershitz. You really want to know why I find Trax annoying? Trax
was the most over promoted game in the history of mankind. There was
a period of a few years where every time you turn around,

ONLY 200 DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE NEXT TRAX TOURNAMENT!!!!
ONLY 199 DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE NEXT TRAX TOURNAMENT!!!!
ONLY 198 DAYS LEFT ...

Then at the end of it all, 6 people show up for the fucking
tournament, including the initiator of this thread. Then comes the
stunning announcement. So-and-so wins the tournament for the nth year
in a row. Congratulations! There were like 5 other people in the
fucking tournament! Holy shit!!

Of the 15 sites my games are played at, how many of them do you think
have Trax? Two!! You think I'm jealous of Trax because a handful of
people bought into the hype and someone compiled a puzzle
collection?? Guess again, moron.

Here's a quote from the "official" Trax site: "One of the unique
features of TRAX is that it has the potential to be played to
infinity." Vintershitz, if you've listened to a word I've said over
the years, you'd know I couldn't possibly admire a game like that.
There are a small number of games I do admire, including Forms by
Steven W. Meyers and Metamorphosis by Greg van Patten. Trax isn't one
of them, idiot.

As one of the guys who has challenged the great So-and-so Trax player
I have to admit that it's a marvellous game. I'm not sure why someone
would like to comment on a post about a puzzle collection only to say
that he doesn't like the game. I'm sure there are millions who do not
like the game. Perhaps thousands who know it and love it. Maybe
millions who would like it if they knew it. I really don't think
anybody cares if someone doesn't like Chess or Go. Nor does that makes
Chess or Go inferior. So what?

ypercube
just a average Trax player.

P.S. Keep up the good work, Traxplayer. We are waiting for more
puzzles :)
