BoxOff can be adapted to a triangular board of hexagons. *Three* same-colored stones can be removed if they share an otherwise empty triangle. I think it's best if it's required that the triangle considered be oriented the same way as the board. (If the triangle is allowed to be oriented any way, it causes visualization problems, at least for me.) A hexagonal board of hexagons could be also be used, but again I feel there is awkwardness in visualization.
I think rectangular BoxOff is better overall, but that triangular BoxOff might be a fun variant.
