Saw a news segment with Dennis Miller and they were talking about Hillary's
determination to keep on fighting in the primary election. He said, "Hey,
Hillary is a tough girl. She makes the Terminator look like a guy who
would fold pocket Aces"!

What do they have to do with it? Miller hasn't been funny in a whole lotta
years, and that sad non-joke was certainly no proof otherwise.

It was funny. His material is a quantum leap better than yours.

Don't agree with Miller's positions, but at least he has the courage
to put himself out there and follow conviction. Burned a lot of
bridges in Hollywood, and he knows it - - but did it anyway. Gets
props for that (though he IS wrong on a great many things).

Of course, he could just hover on usenet lists and post smug one-
liners, but that's not much of a legacy... is it?

but airdrop him into Antarctica,
& he's just a penguin's bitch”

Miller *is* funny. Maher is hilarious. Franken? To each his own, I
suppose.

Cheers.

PS: I bet I know why you have such a hardon for Maher, though... he
doesn't cut y'all Irish Catholics much slack, does he?

*yawn*

I get paid to write software, not punch lines.

And I post to Usenet for my own amusement, not yours.

When you take the time to say something meaningful you're alright.
When you post smug one-liners that serve no purpose other than a half-
ass attempt to promote yourself as clever... well... yeah.

Nothing personal about it.

Miller has failed at everything he has done in the last 10 years.
He is just smart enought to know that there is an audience of morons out
there who watch FOX , and that if he spews enough hate , and screams "They
hate america", that he will get his last 15 minutes of fame.

You cant see that his swing from "ultra liberal'.. to conservative 'hate
monger" , is just a lame attempt at TV time ?

Kinda like Zell Miller!!

Hillary reminds me of a poker player that gets broke , and wants to sit at

give the seat up !! WE HAVE A LIST!!

I LOVE those people! It does get a little irritating though when it takes
the dealer like 2 hands before he tells them this.

BEG pardon, but I'm clever enough to attract fans without having to
self-promote.

Miller isn't funny.

Oh, wow ... as long as it's "right-wingers" getting skewered you think
it's hilarious, but when your own ideology is on the receiving end,
"Hey, that's not funny!"

Too bad Matthews didn't take up Zell on his challenge to a duel.

I don't follow Miller's career but, as far as I know, he's still doing
performances all around the country including Las Vegas. HBO recently had a
couple of Dennis Miller specials. He gets paid to be a speaker and to do
guest appearances. He's hosting a new TV game show and he is a regular
guest on the Fox News, O'Reilly Factor. What have you done lately that we
would have heard about?

He's not a hate monger. When you drop charges like that casually they
lose any potency. There's a new unspoken rule, whoever calls the
other side 'nazis' is generally not prepared to talk about an issue in
any rational, meaningful sense.

Funny is subjective. His over-politicized stuff and sycophancy to the
Bush administration has betrayed him in the end. But - he's a sharp
guy and still has good moments. Let him be.

Miller is the mirror image of Bill Maher.

Yeah, George Bush has that same "quality"

The once-funny Dennis Miller (I mean that--he used to be great. His
extended rants were brilliant) has taken on the desperate tone of a
guy who knows he backed the wrong horse and is incapable of admitting
it out loud.

Orange is a lunatic left wing psycho. He posts idiotic liberal bull shit

intellectual discussion. I kill-filed the fruit cake more than a year ago.
It appears he never got over it.
