Irish Mike
I'm so old I remember when Dennis Miller was funny.
Jim
Let me guess. You think Bill Mawr and Al Franken are hysterical?
Irish Mike
What do they have to do with it? Miller hasn't been funny in a whole lotta
years, and that sad non-joke was certainly no proof otherwise.
Jim
Don't agree with Miller's positions, but at least he has the courage
to put himself out there and follow conviction. Burned a lot of
bridges in Hollywood, and he knows it - - but did it anyway. Gets
props for that (though he IS wrong on a great many things).
Of course, he could just hover on usenet lists and post smug one-
liners, but that's not much of a legacy... is it?

Miller *is* funny. Maher is hilarious. Franken? To each his own, I
suppose.
Cheers.
PS: I bet I know why you have such a hardon for Maher, though... he
doesn't cut y'all Irish Catholics much slack, does he?
*yawn*
I get paid to write software, not punch lines.
And I post to Usenet for my own amusement, not yours.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. You're very insightful... nay,
gifted. The Salieri of RGP. Oh, your mother must be proud.

At least I don't take it personally when someone doesn't like something I
like.
Jim
Nothing personal about it.

You cant see that his swing from "ultra liberal'.. to conservative 'hate
monger" , is just a lame attempt at TV time ?
Kinda like Zell Miller!!

I LOVE those people! It does get a little irritating though when it takes
the dealer like 2 hands before he tells them this.

yep sad to see what he has turned into

And Joe Lieberman...
BEG pardon, but I'm clever enough to attract fans without having to
self-promote.
Miller isn't funny.
Jim
Oh, wow ... as long as it's "right-wingers" getting skewered you think
it's hilarious, but when your own ideology is on the receiving end,
"Hey, that's not funny!"

Too bad Matthews didn't take up Zell on his challenge to a duel.

I don't follow Miller's career but, as far as I know, he's still doing
performances all around the country including Las Vegas. HBO recently had a
couple of Dennis Miller specials. He gets paid to be a speaker and to do
guest appearances. He's hosting a new TV game show and he is a regular
guest on the Fox News, O'Reilly Factor. What have you done lately that we
would have heard about?
Irish Mike
Funny is subjective. His over-politicized stuff and sycophancy to the
Bush administration has betrayed him in the end. But - he's a sharp
guy and still has good moments. Let him be.

Miller is the mirror image of Bill Maher.

I dont even know what that means.

Yeah, George Bush has that same "quality"
The once-funny Dennis Miller (I mean that--he used to be great. His
extended rants were brilliant) has taken on the desperate tone of a
guy who knows he backed the wrong horse and is incapable of admitting
it out loud.
Just add that to your already massive list of things you don't
understand.
Orange is a lunatic left wing psycho. He posts idiotic liberal bull shit
and tries to sign my name to it. In his goofy little world, this passes for
intellectual discussion. I kill-filed the fruit cake more than a year ago.
It appears he never got over it.

Ummm ...no I don't.
No, you don't.
You take his posts and alter them to "Irish Reich"
One of the most chickenshit moves in Usenet.

I do WHAT??
