If you don't live here, all you know about the country is what others tell
you. Those of us who know it first hand would not live anywhere else. If
America is such a shit-hole, why are so many people, perhaps even from
your country, trying so hard to get here?
Why don't you tell us where you live, and we will tell you what we believe
about your country, also without benefit of our ever having lived there.
I have spent approximately 2 years living in the USA due to work
commitments.
I also visit a couple of times a year for big poker tournaments.
I will list some other things I hate about your country:
You sell arms to some of the most dispicable regimes in the World.
You polute the world with huge amounts of cfc gases and refuse to cut down
when every other civilised country agrees to.
You health care system is a complete joke failing to care for the most
needy in society.
Any country which elects Bush must be seriously flawed
You still have the death penalty when virtually every other Western
country has abolished it years ago.
Pete Rose gambled on a few baseball games and is barred from the hall of
fame while wife beaters and drug addicts are welcomed.
Utah.

This makes me laugh.
When I was in Japan with the Air Force, I knew dozens of Americans who
spent 4 to 6 years in country, and NEVER ONCE stepped foot off base.
That is truly amazing. And sick. And it is also characteristic of the
type of people that would make a comment like the one you made above.
Americans, probably more than any other culture in the world, make a
great effort at remaining ignorant of the rest of the world. And, the
funny thing is, they seem damn proud of it, too. America is not as
great as you think, believe me. But, you wouldn't know that, would
you? And you'd rather not find out.

There are good things about America I know.. I didn't have an entirely

I remember seeing some footage of an American woman after 9/11. She was

Perhaps the insularity you talk of is one of the main reason the world
hates America.

But on the other hand, we have nice teeth.
I would suggest that you go down to a wharf and find the largest rat

Then realize that we don't give a rats ass about your opinion.

we're wearing that mantle, everyone hates us. With the exception of
some prissy liberals, most of us react to the disdain of the rest of

Personally, I have a great deal of love and respect for the Brits -
they are fierce warriors, staunch allies, and much of our culture and
society came (and continues to come) directly from there. If it

And knowing that there are a few putzes like you there won't change my

Naw. There's enough nasty stuff to say about any country, anywhere,
and the US and UK are no exception.
Personally, I love the British. This guy I could do without, but
then, there are a lot of American assholes too.
One thing most people who make this complaint never seem to think of -
America is HUGE. In most of europe, if you drive for a few hours in
any direction you're in a different country. You can drive for DAYS
in the US and still be in the US. We make no effort to avoid learning
about other cultures, we simply have far too much of our own to
explore, and not enough hours in the day.

But you phony american liberals on the other hand can suck up all you

But the what's the bottom line?... They'll still hate you, too!...
And if we give them the opportunity through the UN, they'll punish
all of us bigtime, even you smooth-talking limp kneed liberals...
You have no idea how sick it makes me to hear your begging and your

News flash!! Get over it..The America haters were there long before
Bush, and will be there long after...You can book that...
If they can hate us after the efforts we made during WWII and the
money we spent on defensing against the Soviet Union, all of which we
did for our own benefit but nonetheless benefitted countries who
consequently did not have to spend a dime for their own defense for
over 50 years, If they hate us after all of that, you can book it...
No liberal sucking up will change them..We'll just have to write 'em
off...
Let 'em spend on their own defense, and their 65% tax rate will go
even higher..It'll serve 'em right...
As for this Brit, I'd call for repealing the treaty that allows Brits
not to pay taxes on their US gambling winnings... But dumb as this guy
is, he probably doesn't have any winnings...

The scene of Janet pushing out half her stack was no doubt the most
prominent event that got a whole lot of people worked up, but there
are more things being discussed.
There is the issue of advertisers resorting to potty humor.
There is the issue of the pitiful state of TV content.
There is the issue of the pitiful state of popular music.
We often get treated to surveys of how people in the world view
America.
A large number of them get their views from what they see coming out
of the entertainment industry like movies, TV, and music.
Media celebrities often whine and moan about the negative opinions
that people have about American society.
Ironic, eh wot?

Guess what, Dyna?
There are already all kinds of sickos walking around with guns.
There are already all kinds of gun control laws.
Guess what else, Dyna?
The sickos don't give a damn about no steenkin' gun laws.
There should be a Darwin Award category for the business
establishments that post a sign saying:
"GUNS NOT ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES"
It would make a good scene for a movie, of a line of sickos with guns
turning away in front of that sign.

>Has any American heard of getting their priorities wrong?
Americans have been psycho-analyzing themselves for as long as I can
remember.
It reached its peak in what I fondly call the "Blame America First"
analysis.
Here are the rules:
1. If anything bad happens in the world:
A. It is something we did that we should not have done.
B. It is something we did not do that we should have done.
2. If anything good happens in the world:
A. It is despite something we did that we should not have done.
B. It is despite something we did not do that we should have done.
3. If undecided on whether an event is good or bad, flip a coin to
decide.
4. GOTO 1
These rules will save your time so you can find out what you think,
without wasting all that time trying to actually think.
>
>You have a sick, warped country. Thank God I don't live there.
You would live up to your full potential as Useful Idiot, if only you
could convince the millions of people coming into this country
illegally that they really don't want to come to this sick, warped
country.
then you will love this Presidential candidates slate:
Robin Williams for president 2004.
Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan... what we need
now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.
Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)
I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for
peace. So, here's one plan:
1. The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their
affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega,
Milosovich and the rest of those 'good ole boys.' We will never "interfere"
again.
2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with
Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We
would station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the
fence.
3. All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave.
We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be
gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are.
France would welcome them.
4. All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days
unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be
allowed in.
If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here.
Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab
drivers or
7-11 cashiers.
5. No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they
don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.
6. The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise.
This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will
require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou
will have to cope for a while.
7. Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for
their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go
somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling
up the storage sites would be enough.)
8. If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will
not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement
or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given
to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9. Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't
need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would
make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can
call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.
There Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.
"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired,
your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want
a piece of me?'"

The only thing the gun control laws do is take guns away
from law abiding people.
Criminals and sickos can get guns anytime they want.
I personally could aquire a weapon illegally in about 24 hours
if I desired.
Legally I can not even own one to defend my home at this time.
Why?Due to changing the laws and red tape bullshit.
That leaves honest law abiding people unable to defend themselves.
Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns.

There is a very strong drive and sinister plan now to do to us the same
thing they have done to the Europeans. Under so-called "free trade", they
seek to make a "European Union" out of our own hemisphere.
STOP the FTAA!!!
-Paul G.
John, world government has always been the goal of communists. These are
the people who have snuffed out freedom and millions of lives all over the
globe. A world government will certainly be the end of the principles
behind our own freedom. There will be no Constitutional rights and
protections under a world government. No freedom loving person should fall
for the trap of world government. Only power hungry maniacs and would-be
tyrants would want world government. (and gullible starry-eyed dreamers)
Now if you think it is difficult to change things at City Hall, it is even
more difficult at the County Board of Supervisors. And yet even more
difficult at the State Capitol. And, of course, even more difficult at the
Federal level. Can you imagine the power of a world capitol? It would be
tyranny on a global scale. Once ALL power is consolidated at that level,
the hope of mankind to have freedom would be extinguished.
Perhaps you are right in saying that there would be no more wars. Well,
John, they have peace in Vietnam now. But it is a prison with no rights and
no individual freedom. Living in peace as a slave, is not a good thing,
John.
Best Regards,
Paul G.
PS: I'm scheduled to adopt out that puppy this coming Monday. Wish him
luck. :-)
Thank you very much for the opportunity.
I'm sure Paul would tell you much the same things as I, but from a
different perspective.
Start out by thinking of the old saying:
"You can't fight City Hall"
This means that the average citizen by himself has a hard time
influencing decisions made at the city government.
Take this one step farther and think of State government.
One government with a whole lot more territory and citizens to govern.
Fighting City Hall doesn't look like such a tough proposition any more
in comparison.
Citizens in the western part of the state can have different
conditions than those in the eastern part.
The State government will no doubt try to be "fair" to everyone, but
Good Luck on keeping everybody happy.
Take the next step up to the Federal government, and you have
200,000,000+ people with one government.
Personally, I like the ancient concept of considering the 50 States as
individual "Laboratories of Democracies".
As long as there is free travel, people can vote with their feet and
leave a state that has become non-responsive to the citizens.
If the entire country comes under single, unified, one-size-fits-all
rule, where can you go?
No lack of unhappy citizens here.
Just listen to the opposition party here screaming:
"NO! NO! HE'S DOING IT ALL WRONG! LET US DO IT!! WE CAN DO IT BETTER"
If you have read any of my other rants, you will know what position I
think the opposition party is leaning towards, namely a path to a
one-world government.
All you need to do is expand the realities of a single, unified,
one-size-fits-all Federal government, to a One-World government.
If you think about it, it ought to give you the shivering fits.
I hope you now remember why a one-world government is a 'Bad Idea'.

It seems that Americans feel and think about themselves just like
Romans did a couple of millennia ago, and Brits a couple of centuries
ago. The very same superiority, the very same lack of care about the
rest of the world, the very same blindness or indifference about the
worldwide problems: poverty, hunger, environmental pollution.
Hope that when US reaches its crisis era, it does in a gradual way
like British empire did, rather than the destructive way Roman did.
Since US is the largest possesor of WMD, I fear such a crisis could
lead to its desperate use at that stage.
Historically, US leadership has already proven to be (morally) able to
drop WMD upon civilian people in Japan, thus getting #1 at WMD usage,
in a similar way followed by #2 former partner Saddam upon Kurds. No
doubt you're #1 at just about everything... no reason to be arrogant
indeed.

Before I begin my rant, let me say that thanks to the British, Spanish is not
our official language: remember the Armada? (Although Spanish is our unofficial
language here in California, but that's another story.)
Also, thanks to the British who defeated the French on several occasions, we
don't speak French, either. (Napolean didn't have a sense of humor, that's for
sure.)
Obviously, thanks to the British help last century, we don't need to speak
German.
(Hitler had even less of a sense of humor than Napolean. But I'm not so sure we
should have gotten involved in the first World War, however.)
That said, during my travels thru Europe, especially Italy and Holland, the
Brits aren't all that swift at "cultural sensitivity,'"
either. The English kids are notorious for their rowdy behavior in Amsterdam.
In a Dutch bar a few weeks ago, a couple English guys asked whether the Dutch
spoke German as their native tongue. Throughout Italy, the Brits are well-known
for their lack of effort to learn the language of my relatives, the "I-tyes."
So before you start to piss me off (my dad's relatives were kicked out of
Scotland because of some English bastards) or you get my inner-Italian angry
(bacciami il culo italiano, sporcacione), let me say:
"Can't we all just get along...and deal some Poker?"
May you NEVER "seven-out,"

I agree. Forty years ago, Lenny Bruce spoke of America's tolerance of violence
but the inability to handle sexuality.
That said, I am upset about Jackson's breast because...why couldn't it have
been Brittney Spears' breast, Aguilera's, or anyone else's? Old, washed-up pop

Nudity can be a beautiful thing...but what the Hell was that metal Ninja Death

Now I must go to several "Gentlemen's Clubs" to extricate that horrible

Fortunately, I am now happily married. But a frightening image like that could

Amazing how one can be so right, and so wrong, at the same time.
Your first sentence is correct. Your second shows a great deal of
ignorance about nearly everything in the world. NO ONE has done as
much to fight poverty and hunger as the US. No one has even come
close. (I'm sure you're firing up the % of GDP argument. Ho hum,
what's for dinner?) As for environment, we've done far more to clean
up our country than most other countries have - and the worst
environmental disasters are the result of
socalist/comunist/dictatorial regimes.

It's hard to be humble when you're as great as we are. Just as it was
hard for the Brits, and the Romans, when they were #1. As for
referring to the use of The Bomb to put an end to WWII, your phrasing
indicates you're ignorance of that event is so great there's not

The US has 5% of the worlds population yet consumes 25% of the natural
resources being consumed. This makes the US the planets biggest polluter. Its
just a legal, organized, ongoing environmental disaster. Whats going to happen
when China, Africa and India demand a car for each of their citizens? Then
you'll see a true disaster.
It will be an even worse disaster when they demand 2 SUVs, a boat, and
a motorhome for each of their citizens. But sadly, I don't think we'll
ever make it that far anyway. I really feel for future generations and
the mess we are leaving them.

I wasn't meaning to deal with country-wide problems, but world-wide
problems. Since your corporations and factories, and the military

you're taking the role of the leading actor, and this fact should

I can recall examples from both regimes:
Chernobyl (Ukraina), in the USSR socialist-comunist-dictatorship.
Bophal (India), produced by Union Carbide, member of US

This proves it is a problem that exceeds national and political

I am fortunate having the opportunity to be pointed at faults in my
education. The Bombs cut down that opportunity to tenths of thousands
of children in a second.
NO strategic consideration can be worth hundreds of thousands of
non-combatant lives in a single act.
> Therefore, your opinion on that subject, and any subjects relating to it, rankes somewhere below "worthless."
All those lives ranked somewhere below "worthless" too.
I recommend you get a child, so you will know.
I understand what you're driving at. I dont claim to be free from contributing

the bus or even a train for long trips and my bicycle for getting around

>which of these 3 countrys are you from ?
Yo no comprende. Whats your point?
My point is that the human race, in its efforts to halt pollution and
environmental destruction, is not doing a very good job. We are losing ground
at an alarming rate and the US is leading the way. And most people dont
care. The small gains we make in passing more stringent laws are more than off
set by population growth and people wanting more cars and bigger houses and
more crap to fill those houses.
But, hey, lets not worry about. It'll all work out, wont it.

(That's not true, but since you get to make up numbers, I thought I'd
do the same.)
A huge portion of the natural resources being consumed are OURS. Not
yours. Our rich natural resources is one of the reasons we're such a
wealthy country. The other is we work harder than anyone else, with
the possible exception of the Japanese.
> This makes the US the planets biggest polluter.
Bzzt! Consumption of resources does not necessarily make one a
polluter. Thanks for playing, we have lovely parting gifts.
Take a walk through the US. Then do the same in a socialist, or
communist, or dictatorial country. Note the environment in each.
Then comment on how crow does not taste like chicken.
>Its
>just a legal, organized, ongoing environmental disaster. Whats going to happen

No, you'll see the population trend turn around.
The best cure for overpopulation is wealth. As wealth and education
increases, population increase slows dramatically. Thus, when we see
China and India getting (as opposed to simply demanding) cars for
their citizens, we can see that as a good thing, not a bad one.
As for Africa, that place is such a mess, such a hell hole, that I'm
beginning to wonder if they'll ever dig out.

You go to town? Don't you realize that towns and citys consume a HUGE
amount of resources to survive, all out of proportion to those in
rural areas?

The environment in the US is cleaner than it has been in the past 50
years, and it continues to improve.

Now compare what happened in the aftermath of each case.
The bophal mess was cleaned up.
The chernyobal mess remains encased in cheap concrete, a future
disaster waiting to happen. The USSR was so poor that they couldn't
afford to discard all the contaminated food grown in the area, so they
"solved" the problem by shipping it all over the country, trying to
dilute the impact by poisoning everyone a little, instead of poisoning
a lot of people in one area.
In short, one disaster is over and done with, the other is still going
on - we have no idea how many people will be dying prematurely because
of Chernyobl.

By the way, I'm writing this from Korea. And no, the Koreans in Uijeongbu
and Seoul don't call themselves "South Koreans." I don't expect the Koreans
in Pyeongyang call themselves "North Koreans" either. "Ah, zee foolish
Koreans... calling themselves 'Koreans,' zey are so foolish, those foolish
Koreans!"
The expected American military casualties were mostly civilians in uniform
trying to get the war over, so they could go home. Their lives meant a hell of
a lot too.
You're either totally uneducated or you're a fool. I'm inclined to go with the
latter.
snip Mr Hitts best Alfred E Nueman imitation..."What....me worry?"
"Jane, you ignorant slut" : )
Obviously, we disaggree on the future of the environmental problems the
planet is facing, and I doubt either of us will ever change. So eat, drink,
and be merry, dude.
ps...the sky IS falling. Literally.
The end was already obvious for Axix. They would have given up WITHOUT the
BOMB. But the bomb was dropped for another purpose that most people don't
know. If you understand that the whole World War II's primary purpose was
to trick us into world government through a newly created body like the UN,
a second attempt after the first League of Nations was rightfully rejected.
After we dropped the bomb on them, there was an intensive propaganda
campaign in this country to push the concept that we must join the United
Nations because it was "man's last hope for peace." Everywhere there were
billboards and editorials and posters showing this horrible weapon that had
been dropped on Japan. People had never seen such a devastating weapon.
They kept showing over and over and over a large mushroom cloud, with the
message "man's last hope for peace, we must join the United Nations."
In other words, I don't believe we had to drop the bomb at all. They were
ready to surrender. No, culprits in our own State Dept., some of the same
scoundrels who knew about Pearl Harbor before it even happened, were
determined to drop this bomb on Japan no matter what, so as to use it as a
propaganda tool to get us into the United Nations.
And it worked. Whereas the Senate was smart enough to recognize the
previous League of Nations for what it was, an attempt to usher in world
government, this time, the nation was so weary of war and so frightened by
this new atomic weapon that our Senate unanimously said OK for the United
Nations, with only two Senators even reading the Charter itself.
Now, 50 years later, we are approaching attaining what the founders of the
UN really wanted from the beginning. A formidable UN with enough force to
bring the world into a world government merger. Total global tyranny.

Obviously spoken by someone who has not been in a third world country of
late. Step across the border from Texas to Mexico and watch as industry
dumps all liquid waste right into the rivers and streams.
In Texas, more specifically Austin, we will hold up a shopping mall for 10
years over a cave bug, in Houston there is a huge tract of land set aside
for the Houston Toad who by the way has not been sited in over 20 years.
Mexico, hunters flock down there (no pun) because they can kill all the
birds they want, no limit. Same for fish.
Sure we burn a lot of oil, chop down a bunch of trees but we also lead the
world in tree planting and alternate energy research. That and support a
good part of the worlds economy in the process.
Happen to be in the Oil and Gas so I can say without fear of harassment that
as soon as the LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) issues are settled ala building
terminals far enough offshore to avoid the effects of a medium nuke if a
tanker blows up, that we will spread the wealth even more into Russia
(Siberia), the middle east and South America where there is more Natural Gas
than we have ever found in the US.
So we are not running out of resources, we are just spreading the dough
around and having a pretty good time.
What will kill us are the entitlements that we countinue to pile on, I am
sure I will not live to see the bust that is coming. But it will come and
it will be ugly. When the number of people on the dole exceed the number of
taxpaying workers.....

Global warming must be a load of crap.
The Internet: Al Gore did what politicians do. He took credit--and
rightly so--for leading Congress in the early visionary funding that paved

It was big (and COMPLETELY nonpartisan *wink*) intellects like Sean

and Prague when they arrived. They raped everyone. Old ladies, little
girls. Again, although it is obvious that the Russians were bad guys, this
was not the reason they did such things. They did it as political strategy,
uh, because, well, uh, that's what communists do. And all the while the
Germans would have been happy to surrender to Eisenhower, but he held our
troops back two weeks outside of Berlin and Prague to allow the Russians to
arrive.
On another note, our troops had orders to return certain allies who had
escaped Stalin and fought with us against the Nazis. It was called
Operation Keelhaul. Russians who had fled the terror of Stalin fought with
us side by side against Hitler. Our loyal allies fighting for freedom. Our
troops were ordered to force these soldiers into boxcars at gunpoint, and
return them to the clutches of Stalin. It doesn't take much imagination to
guess what happened to these men on returning to Stalin.
If anyone here is a young student, or has children who are in school, please
show me where in their history texts or their Political Science courses that
these facts are brought out. Our country has been sold out by traitors
within, for decades. For a closer look at these traitors within, examine
the role of the Council on Foreign Relations, founded in 1921.

What force are you talking about? The Australians in East Timor? The
US and Canadians in Kosovo? Nigerians in Liberia?
There's not a single unified military structure anywhere in the UN.
They have to borrow armies from signatory nations to do their silly job.
