Ok, I admit I don't follow sports that closely (I'm a
fairweather/bandwagon/playoffs fan), but when did Ron Artest change his
name to Metta World Peace? How fucking gay is that?

This isn't the way to promote world peace, IMO

I've always been a fan of Metta. Those on RGP in 2005 may remember me
vigorously defending in the crowd charging incident.

But I see no reason he shouldn't have been taken out of the stadium in
handcuffs by the LAPD tonight.

I've only seen that once. <something> Fleury (I think) of the Calgary
Flamers was arrested for a stick to the head against one of the Kings
years ago.

Come on man, do you really think he should have been arrested for
that? I doubt he even knew who he hit with his elbow. It was a dumb
move, but I wouldn't call it criminal unless you classify it as some
type of negligence.

He didn't *care* who he hit with his elbow. It was obviously
intentional. His innate thuggish instincts overwhelmed his "World Peace"
crap and multi-millionaire status, and he couldn't help himself. SOB.

Five games minimum. Maybe 10.

Harden got a concussion - brain damage. If he doesn't get a Nobel Prize
or at least presidency of Harvard after his career, he can sue World
Peace for damages.

That's what makes it so bad. It was incredibly reckless. It was
completely separate from any context of the game being played. It's not
like it was a hard foul... or even a reaction to some basketball related
event.

Worst of all, it was a highly dangerous concussion/brain damaging causing
headshot. Harden could have permanent damage. He is a great guy who
didn't deserve to be victimized like that for no reason.

It was beyond negligent.

No way was it intentional.
