A friend and I are making a bet, loser pays for a sort of reunion lunch
for a group of 4 of us. Nothing fancy, just former co-workers getting
together for lunch. He wants Romney and said I could have Obama but wants
odds. What sort of odds should I give him? Is 3:1 ok or not enough?

You should probably give him better odds so you can lose more.

He should be demanding an Electoral College point spread.

That's really not what I said if you think about it as a gambling
proposition Vince.

AS far as the election is concerned, I may well be an ignoramus but I
doubt any presidential election could have been fairly adjudged 3:1
(or more) in favour of any candidate. But like I said, what do I know?
I'm an ignoramus, I only have a tenuous understanding of the electoral
college system thingy.

That's good instinct. There have been a few, but this certainly isn't
one of them.

I hope you took my advice, sold the farm, and bought Romney shares when
he was under 22%. I made you guys 60% on your money in a matter of days,
and nobody even bothered to thank me.

laying 3-1 against McCain would have been a bargain .. he was down 10
points

Intrade has it 66/33 and they have never missed an election.. never

Third of all, under UIGEA, transferring funds to and from any internet
gambling venue is illegal if any US financial institution is involved
in the transfer.

As has been pointed out in another thread, Visa cards seem to work
with Carbon Poker.

No I didn't, Obama's odds are 2:1. Idiots form a huge base for Romney.
If Obama were dumb enough to make "47%" comments he'd be referring to them.
