CNN reporting that Maj.Nidal Malik Hasan "had a problem with having
perhaps the opportunity in the future to have to shoot, or kill, or
injure, or fight a 'fellow muslim'. "

Curious as to how he got 43 people on an army base before being brought
down. But I am relieved to know that while psychotic killers are serving
at least the military is effectively filtering out the gays.

The shooter was an American citizen. I don't hear the religion or
ethnic background of any other spree killers unless they're Muslem.
The newest shooter (spree du jur) has the last name Rodriquez, yet the
headlines are not Hispanic Shooter (or Spanish or Cuban or Moorish or
whatever...), just another American. Maybe we should list people as
military, veterans, or civilians; I think we would get a better
understanding.

I wonder how many spree killings happened in Iraq before we decided to
spread the American Way over there. Looking at Iran, I don't hear of
too many apeshit killings.

Look, the idea is to make friends, not to piss off as many people as
possible.

Usually, when something bad happens, we assume the person is just a regular
guy (it is almost never a woman) ... unless the person is black or muslim or
a republican.

This guy in Orlando is, judging from his last name, is a Christian.
Let the record show this and FOX News have a special report on
Christian violence.

WTF is a 'regular guy'? As opposed to a irregular guy?

If we are going to put labels on people, let us at least do it on a
regular basis across the board.

CNN is providing evidence that Maj. Hasan's religious faith "did" play
a part in his decision to shoot people.

As opposed to somebody like Timothy McVeigh, who's motivation for
bombing the federal building was said to be related to the Waco, Texas
incident. Since his personal religious beliefs apparently played no
part in the bombing, there was no logical reason to report it.

==========================

Wow, Bea, I did not label the guy.

The MSM labels the people that do bad things with the label that they feel
is best for their listeners or watchers.

I appoint you labelette in chief. Please mention whenever anyone
stereotypes anyone.

It is going to be a difficult job "across the board" but you can do it.
[And you can label the women too if you want.]

Or that it is cogent. As in this case. It was committed because of his
Muslim beliefs.

Sorry, did he commit his crime because of his "christian" beliefs?
Some people do, and then it is a cogent fact.

He did not kill for his "Muslim beliefs". We don't know why he
killed, yet. He was from an immigrant family -- stress. He claims to
been harrased fror his religion and ethnic background -- more stress.
He has spent the last few years counseling return vets suffering from
PTSD, lsitening to their horrors and nightmares -- even more stress.
He appears he was going to be sent into the same war zone -- stressed
until he snapped.

The tip of the iceberg. We are going to be paying for this nutso war
for a long time.

Would "some people" refer to the Ft. Hood shooter? I'm wondering how you
know he did what he did for religious reasons. Why couldn't it have been
for political reasons? Or, personal reasons? How do you know?

I think you are too FOXed up to discuss this rationally. But you did

Limbergs of the airwaves will be crowing about how this is Mr Obama's

He has been requesting for years to be released from service apparently
because he is opposed to our political leaders employing our armed forces
for imperialist purposes. They ignored his requests.

If Daniel Ellsbeg was a Christian would his actions be attributed to
Christianity? If not, why not?

I have stated many times I watch MSNBC - almost exclusively.

If you know that FOX is saying something, it is because you are watching it,
not me. So tell us, what are the Thrush Limbergs of the airwaves saying?

CNN (on the internet) is claiming that the family is saying that this IS
religious motivated.

But keep spouting, and don't forget those cites you keep asking me for.

Because 1) he had been told to stop constantly talking about how the US
should not be in the wars, especially to his patients (who he was
counseling for PTSD after returning home), and 2) he was yelling "god is
great" while shooting.

Um, they can't let him out for those reasons. If they did, everyone would
do the same thing. He marked "no religious affiliation" on his army
application, and the army paid for his medical training. He didn't want
to go to war? Waaaaa, don't join the fucking army then.

There are reports that he yelled "Allah Akbar" before he started
shooting. I'd say his religious beliefs did play a role in the
shooting. If he were of a different religion would he still have done
it? I don't know, maybe.

I'm an atheist and I agree with that. So, where does the religion figure
in? If I don't like nazi Germany's death camps for Jews, does that make me
Jewish?

"Some soldiers reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" -- Arabic
for "God is great!" -- before emptying several magazines of ammunition.
Other Army officials said they could not confirm that Hasan had shouted
the phrase."

Brewmaster can confirm it.

Anyway, you don't have to be very clever to figure that's a good thing to
say when you're about to go to heaven.

Then, there's this, which doesn't count, of course:
"His aunt said he was constantly berated for his Muslim beliefs and "must
have snapped."

You think everyone in the US Army is anti-imperialist?

In any case, the question was whether he did what he did for only
religious reasons. You're drifting.

Your position doesn't make a shred of sense since other Muslims right on
the same base have expressed outrage at what happened. There's only one
Quran.

This was the largest and most deadly muslim terrorist attack on American
soil since 9/11. Obama and the lame-stream media do not want to admit
this but it is a fact. The shooter was a muslim, he defended suicide
bombers, he spoke out repeatedly against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
and said that he considered them wars on islam. The shooter had to
acquire the guns and ammunition in advance, he gave away his possessions,
he planned to carry out these killings in advance and he yelled "Allah is
Great" in arabic before he opened fire

Obama and the lame-stream media are trying to pass this off as
post-traumatic stress syndrome which is bullshit. First, no one made this
shooter join the military. No one made him let the military pay for his
education and give him a pay check, which he took for years. Third, he
was a piss poor solider and had a shitty performance record. Fourth, if
it were not for the insane level of political correctness that infects our
country and our military, this officer would have been given a discharge
years earlier. Fifth, the shooter never served in any war and never served
in Iran or Afghanistan. Sixth, if the shooter really wanted to avoid
going to Iraq or
Afghanistan he could have resigned his commission for religious reasons.

This was a muslim terrorist attack on American soil and 13 innocent
Americans were murdered and another 28 were wounded. A muslim does not
have to be a direct member of alqueada to commit a terrorist attack.
However, the sad fact is that Obama and the lame-stream media will never
admit that truth. Instead, they will try to rationalize this with a load
of politically correct bullshit. Well, in any case, Obama can go back to
fighting his war against Fox News.

I'm atheist, too. It's easer to see the forest when you're not perched in
one of the trees. When backed up, they always sit on their religion. Before
the elections, Bush said his greatest mentor was Jesus Christ. He said god
talked to him. God told him to go to war. (Apparently telling him to dodge
the Vietnam Draft). Bush is the David Koresh of Branch Dividian. It's The
Crusades all over again. Killing for god. Killing doctors for god. Killing
Iraqis in order to save then. Forcing democracy on religious people as
dedicated to their religion as Bush is to his.

They'll take this Fort Hood killer and hold a Spanish Inquisition; then get
back to the business of spreading god's American colonialism. Didn't people
leave England for American because they didn't like the King's religious
repression?

Where did you get that?

I have the Faux Pickle in my killfile, so I never see his posts
firsthand.

I did see that post firsthand, so I conclude it is the real Pickle.

What kind of game are you playing here, risky?

(Asks he so innocently, despite having a very good idea what the game
is.)

You seemed to imply that anyone who was not an atheist was not such a smart
person. You seem to like President Obama and I think that the president is
a professed Christian. I was wondering how that worked out in your view
of such a conflict.

but it's mostly bullshit "evidence". I suspect his cultural heritage as
an Arab was in play more than his religion. For the most part Muslims
Jews and Christians tolerated each other pretty well in the Arab countries
until Europeans started showing up. Although this guy didn't want to go
to Iraq he did want to go to Afganastan -- which strongly suggest his
objections were cultural and not religious. Arabs just don't like
outsiders coming in and meddling.

McVeighs motivations were cultural in just as strong a way as this Army
Officers motivations were probably cultural.

Of course they were both influenced by their experiences with the Military
culture. Maybe the appropriate headline in both cases is "Another
American Military Vet goes apeshit"

Go to heaven? Oh, you mean because he killed a bunch of infidels.
You're right, that probably played a big part in his motivation for
the shootings.

The only problem I see with your comment is that he didn't. Whoever you

The editorial additions are all yours, fool. Why don't you just talk to
yourself? Oh, yeah, OK . . . that's what you're doing already.

Muslims are known to say "God Is Great" in conjunction with all kinds of
occurences- childbirths, avoidance of a serious injury or any kind of
dangerous mishap, a day of beautiful weather, etc. It's no more sinister
than a Christian saying, "praise be to the Lord."

A muslim who expects to get shot dead in a few minutes could logically be
expected to yell, "God is great."

This thread of yours is for Kool-Aid clowns. This guy quite obviously had
all kinds of issues. His family was probably ethnically cleansed (with
American financing) from a homeland his family had lived in for hundreds
of years, yet he served in the US Army and told family members that the
Army was his life. That apparently wore off as he experienced years of
being shunned and often referred to as a "camel jockey" by his "fellow
soldiers". He wrote "Allah" on the outside of the door to his home. I
would guess that most Muslims said, "Huh?", when they read that. But you
portray this, evidenced by the title of your thread, as an episode in some
deeply needed mental construct of yours that there is a war of Islam
against the "west".

When you fuck over millions of people for decades on end you have to be a
real peabrain to think that a few of them aren't going to lose it. You
have to be an even bigger peabrain to pretend that you aren't doing
something wrong and that they're losing it only because their religion is
"inferior".

Since you snipped the context, your attempt at witty repartee is just a
silly schoolyard taunt.

I'm against anyone being injured but the one thing I don't get is why he
shot thirteen people at random when there are plenty of a-holes like you
around. Logically speaking, I mean.
