Hey guys,
Going to play tourist in Vegas at the end of september. I'll probably
stay in the Treasure Island hotel.
Besides the obvious poker rooms and casinos, what is there to do in
Vegas ?
Like magicians/prestidigitators shows, what are the best ones, does
one need to book tickets beforehand ?
And what about big rollercoasters, are there some nearby ?
Helicopters flights, I'd love for example, are there any ?

Thanks a lot for any tip who'll make me enjoy my trip :)

Tons of nongaming stuff to do. I am sure there is even a helecoptor trip around.
Might even go to hoover. I have heard about 4-wheeling trips in the desert and
jetskiing in the lake.

This site has been a great help for lots of people here.

Penn & Teller are great. Try to get seats in the lower section - you'll

Free stuff, such as the bellagio fountain show, the pirates show at TI in
front.

The rollercoaster at NYNY is great, the trip up to the top of the tower at
Paris at night is good.

Shows: Lance Burton is probably the best magic act right now, Mystere or
KA.

There are tons of helicopter and other day trip kind of things, one place
you can look to see what's available on that is swavacations.com

Talk to the concierge at TI, they can get you hooked up with tickets,
especially if you gamble higher limits.

Forgot, the one at Primm is supposed to be pretty hairy.

Welcome.

I think Doggystyle is having a psychotic episode.  Anyone else agree?

The first time I spent a week in Vegas I started with a bad fall,
braking most of my ribs. Ton of fun, don't miss it.

The last time I was there for 10 days. Besides poker I saw a
couple of good shows, BB King, etc. I also took the chopper ride
to the Grand Canyon.
Here's a great find: Goulash Restaurant. If you appreciate good food, it's worth
the trip to West Sahara and Jones Blvd. I took a cab from Aladdin twice a day
to eat there. It was so much better than any place I tried on the Strip.

Check out the video poker machines. I found one at Aladdin that
made me $3,000 richer. I just love the sound of four of a kind,
singing "we're in the money" and you get $800 for listening to it.

THE BUFFET AT THE BELLAGIO

You cannot imagine what this has in store for you, i'm surprised more
people don't tout its magical properties. I ate Kobe beef and Lamb
Chops likey they were potato chips, and pieces of sushi like they were
mixed nuts. They have an unconscionable amount of food, all of it high
end. I think it was like $62.50, but if ever in your life you enjoyed
or even slightly enjoyed eating food, you will love this buffet. I was
physically incapable of playing poker for 2.5 hours after eating, i
drooled on myself in the sports book instead.

The 4 wheeling in the desert is beaucoup expensive for my tastes,
ditto the jetskiing. I've heard that the helicopter ride is a once-in-
a-lifetime kind of thrill, and all other things pale in comparison to
it. If you're hip to the after hours thing, i'd say go to Seamless,
it's a dance club/strip club. Let me reiterate, it's a normal club
that you can go and dance at, and there are naked chicks walking all
over the place. It's 24 hours but i think it's busiest after say 3am.
I had a good time there, the only time in my life that i felt like i
was in the future lol, the place is snazzy as all get up.

STRATOSPHERE

If you want to almost vomit on yourself several times over, and pay
for the privelage, go to the Stratosphere. Go to the Stratosphere, go
to the Stratosphere. The rides are on top of the space needle, one of
them has a rigid arm that swings out over the city and spins in a
circle, one shoots you up the top of the needle itself, and gives you
that weightless feeling while you're 2039229293 or however many feet
in the air, i was sure i was going to die. The third ride was scary as
well...basiscally accelerates toward the edge of the roof then brakes
at the last second.

Above all else, i'd say...get drunk, do not walk around sober ever.
Have always at least 3 drinks in you at all times otherwise you run
the risk of feeling like a tourist and not knowing what to do with
yourself, and that you're wasting time in Vegas.

Yay, fantastic guys, THANK YOU all for the ideas :)
And indeed, a flight to the Canyon ? Did not even know if was
possible, but that would be just plain awesome!
