So about 6 months ago in work early (well as early as I'm ever in
work) one morning at the coffee station, I was informed by a colleague
that we had taken on a bunch of young noobs and they were all over
there, as he pointed. So as I looked in that general direction, half
asleep, I did notice some new faces but nothing of interest until I
saw..

A vision of angelic beauty.

I swear, I did a double take and at that very second she did a double
take on me doing a double take on her (I am quite handsome).

She was Zoe.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't describe Zoe's looks as supermodel (I
don't like supermodel anyway) just *very* attractive and as I got to
know her over the months, oh boy, were her looks just a bonus! We're
talking the nicest, soundest, easygoingist, humblist, funist,
intelligent, attractive young woman you could ever wish to meet! I
think I was in love!

And then, after only 6 months or so, she was leaving the company,
Whaaat! You brighten up my day you bitch, you can't do that! This is
your first job and you're leaving after only 6 months!?

Well, as it turns out, she had applied for lots of jobs after she left
college (with genuinely two degrees from universities in Cork and
London) and as you do, applied all over for jobs. But her sense of
life and adventure were bringing her elsewhere.

Which was abroad.

I don't even think she was that interested in boys (of any age) too
much and is the type of person who just wants to go and live life
before she'll make a man a lucky man.

She's leaving tomorrow, and I'm off tomorrow unexpectedly so I won't
get to say goodbye, maybe that's why I wanted to write this post
because it makes me a little sad.

Tomorrow is also the 15th of March of course, my 39th Birthday.

Zoe is going to Canada. She's a wonderful girl and so Ireland's loss
is Canada's gain, I say that with absolute certainty. I just wish it
didn't feel like a loss to me too.

Sorry to hear that she's leaving, but 39 is too young for a mid-life
crisis! Believe it or not, you're still young!

You're a kid. However, I am sure this is rather painful, even though
you would never have made any kind of move. It sounds like it was very
pleasant to have her around.

However, you don't have a licence for a mid-life crisis. Too young.

Girl alright, she could have maybe been a *tiny* bit more petite to be
my perfect wife. She's a university level hockey goalkeeper, just
another string to her bow. All she'll have to do is get used to it on
ice over in Canadia.

No mo, I've never had a girlfriend, are you happy now?

Besides, what does that have to do with Bill Burr not being funny!?

There was some sexual tension between us. I think a move would have
been inappropriate though, considering I'm twice her age and I'm a
gentleman. When I fuck 20 year olds these days, I pay.

What I meant by that was that she wasn't interested in a serious
relationship. She didn't have boyfriend but there would no shortage of
admirers.

Not a personal fetish of mine. There is a lovely looking local lass
who I see quite often (usually in a mini) who has those sort of
thalidomide stunted arms. I'd fuck her.

Well here's the interesting thing. Not that I intended it, but I'm
compiling a report in my head of all the posters in this thread which
I'll just go ahead and leak right now.

Pepe has been the only person to make a genuinely positive and nice
comment in this thread so far. Doggy certainly came in friendly too
and as I always say about Doggy, what the hell is wrong with Doggy?
Seems like a nice guy to me.

WiNH starts off bad but then he makes the most observant comments of
the thread. And that's WiNH every year I've been here AFAIC. He is
perhaps the only true listener on this newsgroup and for that I give
him a shit load of credit.

I had a good, if all too brief, friendly relationship with a young

problem with Pepe, you were pleasant to Pepe, therefore you get the

I've said before on RGP that I don't actually think that there is much
wrong with arrogance - so long as it is merited. For example, Pest

That's probably about as well as anyone can do. I have not been
witness to all of the disagreements and unpleasentness that have

RGP is based on unpleasantness and feudalism. I only find myself in
the surroundings I am.

If you were serious about being somewhere more placid, somewhere you
could have a more meaningful exchange of ideas and so on, you would go

I AM elsewhere, as well as here, and have had many pleasant
conversations on issues and ideas. While Popinjay has this fixation
with only being on one newsgroup, I do not share it. Of course, every
group has off-topic conversations and almost every group attracts some
people, well entities, one doesn't want to talk to, there are enough
good conversations around to make up for it. Even here there is an
occasional one.

Actually, the division is the result of a before-my-time flamewar. I
think there is another one, concerned with cat health, but the two I
mentioned divided a few years ago. There are are some people who
participate on both but some people really can't stand the kind of
things done on .community and some, like me, got kinda bored
