Possible Return of Sensei Maverick to RGP

I am pleased to announce that I have been exchanging emails with
Sensei Maverick, and I have been trying to convince Sensei to return
to RGP and grace us with his sagacious and sanctified presence.

While Sensei has not agreed, he is considering my request. Let us all
pray that RGP will again be blessed with the wit and wisdom of Sensei
Maverick.

Sensei is the funniest dude I have ever encountered. Everything he
says cracks me the fuck up.

going to do anything nastier than TYPE at us and why get upset because
he _may_ be back.

It will make me wish I had kept a record of how much I tipped on the
weekend of the fifth and sixth. It really wasn't all that immoderate
but there was this non-tipping, whiny about tipping, Mav-clone at the
table when I was playing $1/2 and on occasion I would tip extra and
say "this is from him," which I found hilarious but it tilted him off
the edge of the planet, which it certainly wouldn't do to Mav.

Not only do tastes differ but encountering a person under one set of
circumstances might give one a completely different opinion of that
person. People who play poker against me usually like me better than
people who play bridge against me and not because of any difference in
my success at the games in question. I'm much less friendly at the

Actually, I have to agree that Maverick isn't really all that rude. (I'd say
"straight-forward" or "shoots from the hip" or "says it like he sees it.")
He isn't really crude either. (I don't remember much in terms of bad

think. I have worked with and helped train many dogs and cowardice is
something that can be overcome, when it does occur.

For the most part, I'm not talking about attack dogs but search and
rescue dogs and personal assistance dogs but I used to be willing to
train attack dogs.

Once, when our house was on fire, two of my dogs woke me by coming
past a room that was burning when they could have stayed safe.

Our current dogs have never been subjected to serious training but I
don't doubt Bear's courage at all. Little Samantha, whose courage and
good sense are nonexistant, drew the attention of Diesel, a neighbor's
Pitt Bull, by yapping at him, when Micki was walking both of our dogs.
She then got behind Micki. Bear simply got between his human and his
"little sister" and calmly faced the slightly smaller but infinitely
fiercer dog.

As usual, Bear was able to bring all the hostility to an end and wound
up sitting calmly beside the Pitt Bull. I don't know how he does it. I
have trained attack dogs and other dogs, as I said, but never a
diplomat dog. I swear he could even make friends with you.

hostile interactions with dogs. Since you like them, you probably
have few if any such interactions.

I hate dogs, and dogs readily pick up on the fact that I am a dog
hater. The dogs react hostilely, but when I confront them they run

but bullies in packs. Just like most humans, by the way. Any dog can
sense when he is confronted by an animal which can kick his ass. When

I remember one time I was out in my front yard, and a dog came into

Every one of those terms is a matter of subjective judgement. Many
people might agree that his posts fit those terms but others could
legitimately disagree. It is especially common to believe these
negative things about someone with whom one disagrees.

Oddly enough, and I didn't think this worth dogging (starting a

So I did and got the email with my new password and everything and
logged in to find that I am permanently banned for insulting someone.
I really thought I would be banned years ago for my comments on the
use of poker vocabulary in Harrington's tournament books. But they
never banned me back then. Now, when I never go there and don't think
I've been involved in any fights, they ban me.

Google "OEQuoteFix" for the surest solution I know of.
It will even put your cursor at the bottom of posts instead of the top.

As for colors, the most recent version availale for download was written way
back in 2003, so it may be the same version. In any case, the color option
is still included, but it is turned off by default.
