I aked for a good place to buy pizza when I was in San Diego, and not
one suggestion from this group. Not one! I was hoping for a good slice
and some intelligent political conversation. Oh well, maybe next time.

BTW, what's with all the bums? I will never complain about my town's
bums, they are bush league compared to the bums in S.D.

Is this your first time down there? In the old days, when I first
started going there, there were literally 60 card rooms all over the
area. Mostly lowball, 95% lowball, a few high draw games like 2-20.
And it was all deal-yur-own, except the two clubs at Lady Luck had
dealers.

I haven't been to SD in twenty years or so.

The poker reviews I read made it seem there isn't much poker to be
had, so I didn't. I liked the zoo. The bums and beggars, not so much

I was pumping my own gas, which I haven't done in years, when I woman
approached me with a gas can and asked me to give her some. WTF? Is
this some local custom? It was dark, No one was watching her or me.
The attendent was busy examing his navel. I gave her about a gallon
($4.10!) and it wasn't enough. That's when I had to stand up to her
and give her attitude. I hate bums. Give 'em foodstamps and arrest
them if they beg for more.

But, I think the main point is, not one SD pizza parlor owner invited
me to have a slice, on the house or otherwise. Just saying.

I'm talking back in the 80s. At some point during the 90s, most of
the card rooms were phased out by city agreement. I think the Palomar
and Lady Luck are the only ones remaining, but there used to be at
least 50 or 60, literally. They all had to have the game visible to
the street. I remember that.

I remember. But back then wasn't lowball just about the only game
dealt? Or 5 card draw? Bet, fold fold fold fold fold. Where's the fun
in that? One time I was delt a boat and I bet and everyone folded. I
think I lost $0.25 on that hand. I got up and walked out. It was years
until someone turned me on to the Bike.

Well, let's see. Here are my exact words from about two posts up in
this thread.

Well there you are. Not much else to say about that. Is there?
