i was gonna say that.  I said that almost everytime i was in a flop last night
at the B/M.  Never any whammies- at least none too bad.

Big bucks once when i flopped a set of 3s in a 3way pot on board of 3-5-T.  Not
sure why the guy with 99 called my 100 raise on him but Oh well

i also like to chant deuce deuce deuce

I have a tendancy to play to tight... which leads to getting bullied by
people picking up on that. So, I find myself saying "scared money is dead
money" when faced with a decision. Seems to help... I fold a lot less
winning hands than I used to.

I like trash talking:

"Fold and I'll show you a bluff, call and I'll show you the nuts, raise
and Ill put you all-in."

"You move, I move, just. like. that."

and I heard this one in a tourney the other day when one guy was taking
a long time contemplating calling an all-in:

"What you thinking so hard about? Counting your outs? If your having
trouble try using your fingers. If you run out of fingetrs and have to
use your toes, RAISE."

and then my personal warning mantras:

"If even I get there, I may not want to be there, I gotta fold."

"Second place will getcha BROKE"

It doesn't help much, and it really has no meaning except for the fact
that some yahoo came into an internet game once and said it from the
rail. It made me chuckle, so I've been using it every since.

I tried trash talking at a live game recently. After my raise, a guy was
contemplating calling from the small blind. I said something like, "I hope
you've got something, coz you know that *all* my chips are going in after the
flop". It worked -- he folded. Unfortunately, the big blind wasn't so
accommodating, called and bet out when the flop came KQT - I folded my 88.

There is a Mexican who I play with regularly. The guy is a good friend,
I've known him my whole life. His one downfall in life is that he will
never be a good poker player.

He's got some doozies, too, and they're all contagious.

"See for da' flop!" He's got a bad habit of not being able to fold when the
pot is raised before him, and he always says that when he calls.
"I need a deuce!" is a regular saying of his, which some people take the
wrong way at first. He says it every time he's in a hand and betting ends
on a street whether he needs a deuce or not.
"You got da straight?" He always says this when contemplating a call,
whether there are straight cards on the board or not. It leads to downright
hilarity on the occasional situation where there is a flush or a boat on the
board.

So have you revealed what second-button is yet? From context clues, I have
condluded that it is second pair. I have never heard this phrase before, though.
Is my conclusion correct? Where is this phrase used? Or are you just making it
up and pretending that everyone knows what it refers to? Cause that would be
mean.

DottieNevada

umm, yeah second pair. I've just heard it around. I dunno, old timers
in B&M rooms? Well, that's what I took it to mean all this time,
second pair. Bare in mind, after playing two months, I turned up my
cards once and said, "I've got a wheel to the six" thinking a wheel
was just a straight. So, sometimes my listening comprehension is off,
but Im pretty sure that's what it means.

see how you'd make that mistake.
