I walk back into the Mirage at 8AM, and call Wayne. He answers the
phone:
Wayne--"Yo."
Josh -- "Dude, are you still playing 6-12?"
Wayne – "Yo."
Josh—"are you drunk?"
Wayne—"Yo."
Then I hear him say, "I raise, I've got the nuts," so I hang up my
awesome, new Samsung phone and walk over to find out what's going on.
Sure enough, he's sitting down playing with the whole all-nighter
bunch, drinking some kind of dark beer. I head up to the room for a
shower, and give him a call afterwards.
Wayne—"Yo."
Josh—"Still playing?"
Wayne—"Yo."
Wayne—"I've got the nuts. I re-raise! What, I can't reraise? Who
capped it?"
Wayne has the whole table thinking he's drunk and tilted, which he may
very well be, but I kind of doubt it. I'm sure he's putting on an
act, and of course he has aces. At this point, he puts me on
speakerphone.
Josh—"What's the flop?"
Wayne—"5 9 K rainbow. Bet? You bet? I raise."
Josh—"Do you have aces? Kings? What's the turn?"
Wayne—"Alright, he's dealing the turn now. It's a queen."
Josh—"I don't like your hand anymore."
Wayne—"Me neither. I call."
Wayne—"River is a blank. I call."
Josh—"You're against 10J?
Wayne—"Yeah, dude."
Josh—"Sorry."
Not a bad beat or anything, but Wayne got his fair share of them over
the course of the trip. He seems crazed, and won't go to bed.
No more gambling. I'm up about $500 for the trip, and decide to call
it quits. I'll save my money for a little poker action when I get
back to NYC. I decide to work a bit on my backgammon game, and start
training for UWSWSOP 2005. . The bracelet is mine next year.
HOOOOOOOoooooooo!
