O'Reilly and Fox News dominate the ratings - again

Fox News has the 13 top rated cable news programs. Bill O'Reilly's "The
Factor" is the top rated cable news show and has been for the past eight
years. O'Reilly's ratings are higher than CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and Headline
News combined.

But since the Fox News Network refuses to go in the tank for Obama, the
Whitehouse has declared war on Fox News and refuses to have Obama, or any
key member of his administration appear on any Fox News program. This
childish tactic just makes Obama look small, petty and vindictive while
increasing Fox's stature and visibility.

Keep on drinking the Fox News kool-Aid Mike. Fox’s highest rated show
(O’Reilly) usually gets a little over 2.5 million morons, I mean
viewers. NBC nightly news averages over 9 million. Even little Katie
Couric on CBS gets more than twice as many viewers as O’Reilly. The
reason FOX news always wins (in their own mind) is because they
conveniently leave out the stations that beat them.

Of course the president dislikes Fox News. They’re liars and anti-
American assholes rooting for our country to fail. They would be crazy
to give them any credibility.

Change the channel once in while Mikey, you might learn something.

Poor, stupid, Irish Mike. Obviously he equates rating with truth and fact.
How about the top rated situation comedies, Mikey? Is that where you get
your news?

Did you take pills to be that stupid? FOX is a right wing station run by
Rupert Murdoch. Did you ever notice that Cheney would only appear on FOX?
You're obviously clueless and continually embarrass yourself.

OReilly keeps trying and trying to get Alec Baldwin to come on his show
because he knows it will drive his ratings through the roof. It
frustrates the hell out of him that he can't bully Baldwin into making an
appearance.

Speaking from personal experience, I think there's a fairly simple
explanation why FOXNEWS (and conservative talk radio for that matter) gets
inordinately high ratings.

FOX commentators are always bragging that they have a large liberal
audience, as supposed proof that they are "fair and balanced". In fact, I
just heard Hannity say that the other day (and not for the first time).

Liberals have a tendency to seek out ideas and criticism that challenge
their strongly held beliefs. That's because liberals are, by definition,
always looking for progress, a better way, more knowledge, which *requires*
an openness to challenges to their currently held views. So, naturally, many
of them tune into FOX to hear the most forceful presentation of "the other
side of the story". I know that's why I spend time listening. In short,
liberals want to be persuaded, so they can hone and build upon their
knowledge.

Conservatives, on the other hand, are, by definition, opposed to change and
progress. Therefore, they tend to seek out viewpoints that *reinforce* their
beliefs. Have you ever tried to persuade a conservative of *anything*? It's
next to impossible. That explains why people like Ann Coulter can sell the
same book with rehashed ideas over and over simply by changing the title.
Conservatives never get tired of nodding their heads to other conservatives.

This results in a situation where FOXNEWS gets a good portion of the liberal
audience from time to time, and a huge percentage of the conservative
audience all the time (ergo: high ratings).

Speaking of which, was anyone listening to the Hannity radio program as this
bubble boy episode was happening live? At least three hot air balloon
experts called in and told Sean point blank that there was absolutely no way
a balloon of that size could ever get off the ground with a 6 year old boy
inside. One of them explained the physics to him in great detail. Hannity
would have none of it. He just kept saying, "No, witnesses saw something
fall out of the balloon. It's not looking good folks!" This sort of ties in
with what I have said above. Conservatives, by nature, are resistant to
learning from those far more knowledgable than themselves.

Lemme get this straight, people aren't watching CNN and MSNBC because
they don't like the truth, and they watch FOX because they just luv! to
hear lies.

Whoakay!

Also, the networks' nightly news programs are only an hour long and it's
a habit for people to leave on a station at that time of night when
there's nothing but news on during off-prime time hours. Plus, the
networks' ratings are permanently waaay down, anyway.

There are plenty of news sources around now with cable and the internet,
and most people don't get their national news from the networks, only,
anymore; network news suffers greatly depleted influence.

I heard that O'Rillly is the third highest rated show in ALL of cable,
not just among news shows; he's number one in cable news.

Also, this is the first time I've heard that ratings depend on a Baldwin
brother.

Liberals tune-in to FOX because they're haters, and haters love to hate.
Also, the more intelligent liberals, say, the ones between an "idiot"

on by wating FOX.

The same reason a good comedy show will get attention. When I'm driving, I'll
often tune in Rush Limbaugh, - at least until a commercial - just to laugh
at him and the neo-idiot Ditto-Heads that call in. And lately, poor old Rush
has been screaming at the microphone. It's truly astounding what he'll say;
and apparently, the Trailer Park Ditto Heads believe what he says. Really;
tune in and listen to what he says. Just for five minutes. He's truly
desperate and his lying is over the top. And he's believed!

I missed that, but I've tuned him in if I were driving after noon. He's just
another Rush Limbaugh wannabe and spends a lot of time sputtering. Then he
bitches that Obama - and various other Democrats - 'refuse' to call his
program because they fear him.

Good points. Also, people who want real news have a number of choices.
The three major networks, local news stations, the local newspaper, a
national paper like USA today, real cable news shows, non-right wing
internet sites, etc.

People who want the right wing hate propaganda only have one choice,
Fox News. (ok, two if you count hate radio.)

Sarah Palin lol

A new poll from Gallup reveals that Sarah Palin's approval rating has
plummeted to an all-time low.

According to the survey, the former vice presidential candidate
maintains a 40% favorability rating, the lowest it has been since she
emerged as a national political figure at last year's Republican
convention. Over the course of Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.)
presidential campaign Palin's "image suffered," declining from a 53%
rating when she debuted as the senator's running mate to a 42% rating
by the end of the campaign.

Hey "Da Pickel nobrains" you left this out. It's from your own link,
dumb-ass (see below, at the end)

The Gallup polls reflect "all adults" which skews a poll significantly
Democrat by those who don't even vote for one thing; they don't know
much about politics and their response reflects mainstrean media smear
attempts. A poll of "likely voters" has Sarah Palin at a higher level.

Few active politicians do have high favorability ratings on a national
level. The negative response in the polls from the opposite political
party will always put them hovering +- 50% in some of the best cases.
Joe Biden has a 46% "favorable" rating. Obama was at 47% yesterday and
Demcrats around the country are in trouble with low ratings.

All Sarah Palin has to do is win the Republican presidential nomination
and then there's a clear choice. Independents are over 2-1 in favor of
Republicans. They're the voters who enabled the Democrats in the last
election; that's all dramatically changed, now.

Her ratings will go up again when there's a positive thrust due to
campaigning, ads interviews, debates, speeches, conservative media
commentary, etc. Right now there's only negativity from the left wing
media (which actually helps her popularity with the Republican base).

The bottom line is that Sarah Palin is in great shape for a 2012 run at
the presidency.

Try posting when you know what you're tallking about.

From your link, dumb-ass:
-"Despite the increasingly negative views of Palin overall, she is still
seen as a possible contender for the 2012 Republican presidential
nomination. Indeed, when Gallup tested a field of possible GOP
candidates, Palin was competitive with Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee for
the lead.

Palin could compete for the 2012 nomination because she is still widely
liked by Republicans -- 69% have a favorable opinion of her while only
25% view her unfavorably. But she may have difficulty succeeding in the
general election, given that Democrats have overwhelmingly negative
opinions of her, and independents view her more negatively than
positively."-

I only have so much time. My TV is usually on CNN or BBC News. My Sirius
radio is usually set to Fox News or Sirius Patriot. On the web I usually
check out the Drudge Report, the NYT, the Washington Post, and the LA Times
(in that order). Canadian news I get through osmosis, but nothing much ever
happens here because of that POGG thing. I've probably watched MSNBC a total
of 20 minutes in my life, and 15 of that was watching Cramer shouting,
jumping up and down, and running around the stage like a lunatic.

First of all disregard the morons who say that I’m risky biz. I'm the

Obama if she’s the nominee.

Here’s the breakdown as it stands right now.

· Obama/Huckabee – 48/41 – Obama +7
· Obama/Romney – 48/39 – Obama +9
· Obama/Jeb Bush – 50/37 – Obama +13
· Obama/Palin – 53/38 – Obama + 15

In my opinion it will be a Huckabee/Obama race in 2012 and Obama will
win.

Sean Hannity is a Reagan Republican and any one who watches him, knows
that. Just as any one who watches, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and
Rachel Maddow know that they are left wing liberals and totally in the
tank for Obama. None of those commentators, or their shows, are even
remotely objective.

However, Fox News, Fox News Sunday, On The Record, Your World With Neil
Cavuto and Special Report are more fair and balanced than any mainstream
news show on the air. Bill O'Rellly's The Factor is the highest rated
cable news show for eight years running. He is fair and has
representatives from both the left and right. His viewers regularly write
in saying he is too liberal and too pro Obama or too conservative and too
critical of Obama. Which is a good indication of a diversified viewing
audience. However, O'Reilly is clearly not in the tank for Obama or any
one else.

Unfortunately, the combination of having the highest viewer rating and not
being in the tank for Obama, is enough for this administration to declare
war on him, and all of the shows at Fox News.

I don't watch it, because it is not available on my Shaw cable tv package. I
instead listen to the TV feed on Sirius 131. Is that ok with you?

In 3 years when my prediction proves 100% accurate you will look like
a fool. Oh, wait, you already do look like a fool. Never mind.

Do morons like you adore Sarah Palin because she’s a moron too? Just
wondering. Well, we all saw what happened when the moron Bush ran the
country for 8 years. We sure don’t ever need that again.

I didn't say that Huckabee wouldn't be the nominee, I said that your

opinion is less than worthless.

You could watch the weather report and accurately declare that it'll
rain tomorrow, but that doesn't mean your opinion has worth.

Hackabee barely showed up in the "preferred candidate" polls a few
months ago. It's all due to his TV show and endless, voter-pandering TV
appearances on other shows. People tend to respond to name recognition
this far out, that's all. When there's a serious poitical campaign going
on, his current "TV personality" status won't mean much.

So, Turbotard just got it wrong, again. As always, I don't even read
Turbotard's screams of agony, echoing from his weasel trap at this
point, but the exception was made because of a new poster on the thread
list, (you). One can imagine my delight upon seeing Turbotard's
dumb-fuck revelation to all, that he never did know the difference
between the fake and real pickles. First he criticized and was proved to
be wrong, and now Turbotard reveals that he never knew the difference in
the first place, himself. Too funny.
