To Poker Stars support,

I was wondering who made the brilliant decision to inform Daniel Negreanu
that my sister, Annie Duke, had sent you a query about him. For the record,
she sent you this e-mail:

"From: Annie Duke
To: sup...@pokerstars.com
Sent: Tuesday, February 18, 2003 2:28 AM
Subject: I am curoius about your chat policy

Hello--

I am writing to inquire about what your policy on player chat is.
Doublesuited and onlinechamp are curently saying nasty and slanderous things
about me on table Acrab. Daniel Negreanu has an axe to grind with me and
Onlinechamp was fired as a host at UB.

This is not the first time Daniel has said rude and out of line things about
me in the chat box at your site. It gets reported to me all the time and
now has been posted on RGP. I know that his chat would be banned on UB. I
am just curious about what your policy is on Pokerstars.
--
Annie Duke"

The purpose of her e-mail to you was clear. She has been slammed and
ridiculed by this adolescent for months now, and she was hoping you might
censor his chat for a while. If, however, your decision was to do nothing
about his abusive behavior, there seemed to be no need to fan the already
raging flames of this conflict. Instead, Daniel was informed of Annie's
e-mail within minutes. I find this action, on your part, to be extremely
unprofessional. Sadly, your action did have consequences. Soon after
Annie's e-mail to you, she received this personal e-mail from Daniel:

"From: "daniel negreanu" <kidp...@hotmail.com>

To: <fluf...@lvcm.com>

Subject: Stop your whining

You got a lot of nerve you dizzy cunt. If someone asks me if you

are Puke, that's exactly what I'll tell them. You talk all kinds of

shit about me and I could care less. You are entitled to say what you want
about me, I don't care in the least.

You trying to censor me? Ah naw, that ain't gonna happen. I'll say

what the fuck I want to say about you. You think "I" start those

discussions? Bitch please, I'm not the only one who has witnessed you

be your pukey self.

Wait till you read McManus' new book... what- are you going to try

to have it cleared from the shelves too! lol.

People SEEK me out to tell me how much they hate you. As for me

sayin' shit about you? Deal with it. I ain't goin' anywhere."

As a brother and a human being I am deeply disturbed by this e-mail. No one
deserves to be subjected to this kind foul attack. I think you owe Annie a
sincere apology.

Howard, just curious. Why is it slamming? He says she plays like shit. Let her
prove differently rather than have big brother chime in. He dislikes her
personality and demeanor. I got news for you bud. Not everyone is going to love
your little sister the way you do. Daniel has made public his distaste for your
sister. So F'in what? Is he a danger to her? If this were unwarranted, I have
to think there would be others chiming in on her behalf. They haven't. I know
NOTHING of the situation, admittedly so, but I fail to see what the big deal is
with him saying she can't play her way out of a paper bag.

Maybe I misread it, but in what I read he said she was a cheat.

Howard, I always like your stuff, and I respect your standing up for your
sister.
However, there must be some sort of unwritten rule or something, but
requests for apology usually fail miserably.

For instance, I remember asking years and years ago for Mason Malmuth to
consider apologizing to Abdul for disparaging comments about "Internet
experts".

Things like this put me on a fence all the time. I know all kinds of people
who can't stand each other, and yet I can be friendly with all sides (up to
a point).

I mean, I'm the kind of guy that will give a *murderer* the benefit of the
doubt!

Danny's toying with free speech rgp-style and concern for your sister and
what she feels about it is far down the list for some reason.

I'm sure this will have some negative consequences for him, but that's for
him to figure out.

Some of his stories were not flattering to your sister, but rest-assured
that we've all done the same types of stupid things and wouldn't want such
anecdotes being the sole focus of attention any more than Annie does.

In other words, I'm sure most of us understand that there is another side to
the story and more to your sister than just this.

Sounds like McManus' book should be interesting reading. Anyone knows what he
says about Duke there?

Human nature being what it is, I'm sure there will be a lot of interest, but
it's just plain wrong.

Way to send chills down our spines, tad. Take that short step to "most
murderers were driven to their acts by women who sent confusing signals."

I think you'd be better off not mentioning murder. The various law
enforcement arms that are surely watching you by now probably have to go
to high alert.

Yes, you should always try to get along with your cellmate.
