letter asking for intervention in the matter to Attorney General Eric
Holder. On Friday, Coco told the AP that the deadline for Holder to act had
passed without action from the administration, effectively supporting
Oliveira's denial of asylum and keeping the men apart.

marriage Tuesday, telling ABC News' "Top Line" that he would have signed a
bill legalizing same-sex marriage in Vermont if he had still been governor.
The bill became law on April 7 when the state's Democratic Legislature

"Sure," said Dean when asked if he would have signed the same-sex marriage
bill. "Look, things have changed. There were a lot of things I didn't know.

stayed out of the contentious political fight.

a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He previously
has not commented on the flood of Mormon money and volunteers who helped
propel Proposition 8 to victory in November. But three organizers of the
past weekend's National Equality March said Reid brought up the topic during
a conversation in his office.
"He said that he thought it was a waste of church resources and good will,"
said Derek Washington, a Nevadan who worked as the outreach director for the
march. "He said he didn't think it was appropriate."

My point remains the same. When Gore, Dean, and Clinton opposed
legalizing same sex marriage, they were still part of the Democratic
mainstream.
My position is exactly the same positon these three men held until

This past Wednesday, 10/22, I attended John Kerry's speech at Tufts
University. The auditorium was full when I got there, but thankfully a
friend was able to get me in and had a seat saved. The speech was one of
Kerry's best I think (and this is coming from a tough critic of his).
When it came time for the Q&A session, I was the first to raise my
hand. I knew what question I wanted to ask Senator Kerry.

stance on civil marriage rights.
Towards the end of the video I asked, "So you do support civil
marriage rights for same-sex couples?" and Senator Kerry responded

I was thinking of those issues like gun rights, same sex marriage,
fiscal responsibility, strong support for the military, being
personally religious. Those kind of things make me think of Blue Dog
Democrat. But now that I look them up, I can see you are to the left
of them on most issues. You don't strike me as left-wing though. Your
positions are quite sensible, which I don't always equate with
