The guy speaking was probably a Muslim so I wonder what the chances are
that the guy with the gun was BillB. He hasn't been seen around here for a
couple of days. Additional circumstantial evidence is that BillB probably
doesn't know how to operate a firearm. Not to mention that he loves the
smell of burning children in the morning so maybe he's stepping it up from
innocent children to innocent adults.

Even if it was a starter pistol as some in the comments are saying why are
you implying that the person attacked was in on it? The people with him
who were beating the piss out of the guy didn't think so.

I'm still sticking with my theory that it could be BillB. He wouldn't know
the difference between a starter pistol and a real gun.

Because it was the "Turkish party" guy and a Turkish guy attacking him
with a pistol loaded with blanks. Sure, it's not 100% that this was
political theater, but it really seems like it is from the evidence
available. Why would a real assassin use a pistol filled with blanks?
Why does it happen to be a guy who directly benefits from the standing
party?

It was apparently a tear gas pistol that would be unlikely to be lethal
but could have injured him. The attacker wanted to embarrass him. They are
considering filing assault charges against the legislators who attacked
the attacker. The attacker has been arrested several times for other
crimes. It doesn't sound like what you think it is.
