That is a terrible version. The best part about the original recording off
of Chicago II is the bass that hits you like a ton of bricks ...

Thanks. I added that to one of my playlists. I hadn't found a good
version of it before.

I really like all the songs in this thread.

Dianne and I just off a cruise in Australia and New Zealand. Holland
America has great entertainment. This lady, Annie Frances, is one that I
had never heard before. She did an hour show and then we wanted her to
return and she did for a follow up show. She has remarkable range and sings
a lot of different styles. She can perform opera and she can yodel. She is
a marvelous entertainer and seems genuinely genuine.

She introduced this Roy Orbison song with a preface that it was one of her
favorites of all time. I usually do NOT like singers that change an old
favorite and "make it their own" ... however, I had tears in my eyes (as did
everyone else in the room) when she sang this version. The U-Tube version
is taken with a forbidden camera so the original was even better but this
version is way good enough for you to get the feel of her voice. The final
"you" is worth the wait.

I would like to know more about your intinerary for this trip. Sounds
interesting.

It was a great trip. We flew out of Dallas to Auckland and then directly to
Cairns. (LabRat lives a little ways south of Cairns.)

First night to the night zoo and the next day doing the rainforest and the
next doing the Great Barrier Reef. (One could spend a lot more time in
Cairns. It was hot ... apparently it is the skin cancer capital of the
world. Great visit.)

Then a flight to Ayres Rock to see it and the Olgas for a couple of nights.
Also hot and well worth the "bother" of those damn flies. (We all were
prewarned and had nets.)

Then a flight to Sydney and what a beautiful city it is. Then on the ship
and an overnight to Melbourne. And then an overnight to Tasmania (the
little devils are really quite cute). And then a couple of days at sea and
touring the Milford Sound. (I hope that is correct.)

Then a day in Dunedin and then a day in Christchurch and then a day in
Picton and then a day in Wellington and then a day in Napier and then a day
in Tauranga/Rotorua and then a day in Auckland. I may have missed one or
two stops.

I have lots and lots of details, if you would like to know more. Lots of
wonderful flora and fauna. Wonderful people and beautiful sights. It is
trip worth taking.
