This post is for those of you who think piling on to Rick and getting a
few kicks to the ribs , is an opportunity to elevate yourself .

It is not .

As for the ankle biting micro-nits who think a $.70 buyin to a n/l game
on a computer is "GAMBLING " ..

It is not ..

You people dont have the slighest idea what 'gambling " is , and how
things happen and the people you will meet and the weird shit they do and
say ..

For those of you who think you are 'righting " the wrongs in the world by
piling on to Rick .. you should go back to your soap operas on TV and get
a life of your own .

just as a point of interest here . PP and Arlo and myself all agree that
these attacks are below the belt.

Between the 3 of us , we have over 100 years of poker experience

WE HAVE BEEN THERE .. DONE THAT !! for good and for bad .

i can only speak for myself , but I have been on both sides of the
"owesies' ledger and things are just not done the way you hateful Cub
Scouts think .

i have had stake deals (both sides) where there is always a 'marker " when
it is over .. NO BIG DEAL

i owed a guy 5000 for almost 15 years .. neither of us mentioned it
.neither of us really cared too much .. 3 years ago .. the guy was down
and out and I bailed him out 3 different times

he now owes me and I have never mentioned the debt .

Thats the way the gambling world works for some ..

And before all you Cub Scouts who idolize some of the bigger names think
it hasnt happened to your "IDOLS".. many of them have been in Ricks spot
at one or more times..

You morons are not being the "righteous".. you are simply being
opportunistic , sleezy, ankle biting chicken shit cowards.

You wanna show some "GUTS" ? Get in your car with $1200 dollars and
drive across country and try to play low to mid range poker for a living .
fade the expenses and all the things that go with actually 'trying " to
play or gamble for a living

In fact .. fuck that .. try getting fired and taking your last 220
dollars and make it last 6 weeks till you make a score ..

those of you who come home from work .. take off your 'fry station ' hat
and buy in to a game for $1.25 cents and then spend hours agonizing over
how much to make it , with JJ ,UTG ..

DONT KNOW A FUCKIN THING ABOUT "GAMBLING "

Rick has played in games you dream about playing in , and he has made a
living in and around poker . he is also human and thus , he makes mistakes.

Jack straus had a saying ..'I would rather live one day like a lion than a
lifetime like a lamb "

You worthless cowards who started and continue to milk the "welch"
business are nothing more than ankle biting parasites , with no lives of
your own .. simply meddlesome cunts whose lives are so pathetic that you
consider this a "victory"

I would gladly spend the last 15 minutes of my life with the PP's and the
Arlo's and people who have put themselves on the line , rather than extend
that life 5 years to live like so many of you TVSM's do .. you huddle in
a corner and wait to attack someone or something at their weakest point
because you have no "victory " in your lives .

YOU ARE NOT A PART OF GAMBLING AND YOU NEVER WILL BE .

i will take the 'rounders" , the 'sleez bags " , the 'bad risks" and all
that goes with them , before i would ever want to live like those of you
who have jumped out from your dark corners to get a gratuitous cowardly
kick to Rick's exposed ribs

i would've even rather hung out with Russ , than cowards like you

Now ..put your 'fry station ' hats back on .. get back to your mundane
jobs and lives and butt the fuck out .

IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS !!

Most of you remind me of a car ride with 3 little whiney kids . You all
have to pee at different times and none of you have a full sized dick to
pee with !!

Please apply the 'shoe fits rule ' to the above post .. if the shoe doesnt
fit , then it aint for you !!

Morphy and those of you who have gone to such great lengths to lash out at
Rick ..

THE SHOE FITS YOU !!

Recession .. when IMike's neighbor loses his trailer

I'm not piling on to Rick, but to you fucking asshats defending

You seem to be including GAMBLING as a positive moral attribute?
People who identify themselves as GAMBLERS are generally morons and
deadbeats who rank somewhere between used car salesmen and pimps on
the scum of the earth scale.

In some people it is a moral attribute.
I kjnow many gamblers that their word is their bond. Some you can trust
with your life if they say they have your back.

I will use me as an example.

Many that know me including those with grat god fearing faith consider me
a very moral person.
One that can be counted on in thick and thin.
If you ask me to give myself a title. I would say loving parent followed
by gambler in all aspects of life.

Putting money at risk any time you aren't 100% that you will get that
money back is gambling.

The skill is in trying to find good spots to gamble, where your risk of
loss is < 50%. It is still gambling.

I dont believe he wrote the post - impossible

I am a grinder not a gambler (I play for entertainment not for the money
but that is how we keep score) - I have loaned money that I knew was
never coming back. A good friend sold out for $750 and I would have
paid off his house for him had he ask. He has since claimed he paid me
back and I never said one word about the money - damn shame too GREAT
card player - just never knew when to shut it down. He has won (and
lost) more in one night than many here make in a year - he was/is a true
gambler even if it might be in a 4-8 or a 10-20 or even a 1-2NL. He has
more of his life on the table than most people here could understand

No, we don't throw out the English dictionary. Poker is gambling in
common parlance, and in the way that most people mean. Gambling as a
legally defined term is something different.

Poker is both gambling and a game of skill. It is gambling where your
skill gives you an advantage.

In blackjack, even the house gambles. It has an edge, though.

It's more a question of degree, I would say. At some point investing
transitions to gambling.

There is no difference... or rather, the only difference is our attitude
toward them. They are both propositions at which we put money, or
something of value at risk for some reward.

There's no difference between a 10% chance of a 10% loss and a 50/50

I guess you're assuming no one else is going to ask so you will yourself.

I think that one of your very most admirable qualities, Arlo, is that you
aren't conducting an ardent love affair with yourself like a few other

You've only noted risk and not reward, but I guess you're just trying to
make the distinction between what you consider a good bet and a bad bet.
IMO, If you really want to make a distinction between gambling and
investment it is that gambling tends to produce no value. I could be a
great AP and make all kinds of positive expectation bets among friends and
in a casino and online and in the end I have produced nothing of value to
anyone except cash for myself. In the best of all possible worlds
investment produces value. I buy a building. I renovate the apartments
and do a responsible job of managing the property. A complete stranger
sees enough value in this product that he pays me an agreed upon sum to
use it. I buy a widget factory. I pay oompah loompahs to make the
widgets. thousands of complete strangers see they can do wonderful
widgety things with my widgets and they pay me for them. Value.

Yes I love me.... You have a problem with that?
If you dont love yourself how in the world do you expect others to love
you.
