The guy who blew up the CIA agents in Afghanistan along with himself was a
trusted informant helping those agents target our robot attacks. Gee, I
wonder how reliable that intelligence was? Apparently it's easy enough for
Americans to decide that 600 - 700 innocent lives are worth taking out one
actual extremist Islamic religious militant who may or may not, in any
case, even give a shit about attacking America anywhere except in his own
country.

"Of the 44 Predator strikes carried out by the American drones in the
tribal areas of Pakistan in 12 months of 2009, only five were able to hit
their actual targets, killing five key Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders, but
at the cost of around 700 innocent civilian lives.

According to the figures compiled by the Pakistani authorities, the
Afghanistan-based US drones killed 708 people in 44 predator attacks
targeting the Pakistani tribal areas between January 1 and December 31,
2009. For each Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorist killed by the American
drones, 140 civilian Pakistanis also had to die. Over 90 percent of those
killed in the deadly missile strikes were innocent civilians."

"On Thursday, US drones launched an attack on a compound in South
Waziristan, and when locals rushed to the scene to rescue survivors, they
launched more missiles at them, leaving a total of 13 dead. The timing and
target of the attack were controversial, as was the tactic of luring
locals in with a first strike to maximize the kill count. Today, locals
were involved in a funeral procession when the US struck again.

Drones attacked what they suspected was a militant hideout early today,
killing at least 17. When mourners gathered to offer prayers for those
slain in the first attack, the drones struck again, attacking the
procession itself and bringing the overall toll to at least 80, according
to witnesses."

It could be argued that every one of these drone attacks are war crimes,
even in countries which we've officially at war with (Iraq, Afghanistan).
Certainly every drone attack on Pakistan, Waziristan, Somalia and Yemen
is, unquestionably so. But hey, laws don't apply to us. We're the U-S of A!
