I have been looking recently at the large range of lottery software
available. Although most of the packages I have seen perform much
the same basic functions such as database, hot and cold numbers,
wheeling etc, there are a few that claim to use *specialised techniques*
and *artificial intelligence* that enable them to recognise patterns and
hence help to predict future draws. I would be very interested to hear
from anyone who has tried these software packages as I am a little
sceptical that they actually work. Have they actually helped to
increase the chances of a win? Also, as I want to invest in a decent
package, I would be grateful for any recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Geoff,

Fforget the * specialised techniques* and * artificial intelligence* claims
that recognise patterns , any genuine lottery enthusiast here in r.g.l will
tell you the same as I am saying,- any prediction claims are worthless . Lets
get it straight, the lottery CANNOT be predicted, it's as simple as that !

The only way to increase your chances of a lottery win is to buy more tickets!

I take it that you've just started the walk down 'Lottery Lane' It is very
important that you understand the lottery and don't fall for the'mythology'
that often appears about it in this newsgroup. For some down to earth truths
and realisms about the lottery I would strongly advise you to take a look at
the DejaNews archives around about '96 '97 and do an author search for -
Mike Sharkey, Dick Adams, Stephen Hillier, Robert Perkis, to name just a few.
Look at some of their posts. You will learn valuable information about this
fascinating subject.

Anyway, you wanted a recommended decent software package. The program I use,
and BTW does not predict anything is LotWin Lottery Line Builder. This
software is for the inventive type of player and will take and handle
anything you can think of,, all 49 numbers of the UK lottery if you want :-)

As with any software, you must take plenty of time to explore what it will
do for you..

You can download a free trial copy at -

Dimitris - the author of Lotwin, recently announced that there is a new 32
bit version of LotWin out now, so drop him a mail about it via the above
website.

Good Luck

Steve Highfield.
