East-West restaurant in the city somewhere is macrobiotic and vegan
(except for cows milk being available for coffee and tea drinkers).

There's also one in SE london somewhere but I can't remember the
name. If you check out a copy of the Vegan magazine they often
advertise in there.

There are several bhel poori houses in Drummond Street near Euston
Station which are completely vegetarian and 75% vegan.

Is that the street where if you walk up Tottenham Court road, past Warren
Street (going away from town) past the road where you turn right to go
to Euston, and go just a bit further, on your right there's a small
street with a huge number of indian restaurants?

Thanks in anticipation,

Also try all the Middle Eastern restaurants, e.g. The Phoenicia, nr High St

I could go on...

Thanks very much. I had lunch at the Ravi Shankar today, which was very
nice (I was too late to get the buffet meal at Chutney's which looked very
good value).

Where? Please! Where? I've been looking for a good Chinese vegetarian
restaurant for a while. Haven't been to any Chinese restaurant for a
long time for that matter (longer than I've been veg.)

I most certainly will.

If you want to risk body and soul travelling on the Northern
Line <sob> to Finchlay Central, there is Rani's in Long Lane,
Finchley (N3). Although they are very strict Vegetarian, I am
not sure if they are 100% Vegan. However, I do know that they
are recognised as one of the best Vegetarian Restaurants in
London, and their food is really out of this world. Allow £20 to
£30 for two without alcohol or coffee - but eating really well.

My wife and I are stricter than Vegan at home and apart from
meats and dairy products, don't have salt, vinegar, sugar,
tea's of coffee's, alcohol etc but we relax a little when we go
out but that isn't all that often. So Rani's perfect for us.

I should mention my experience about Chutney's having been there
a few times. Be prepared to waste your first visit (or at least the
first round of serving yourself). Some things turn out to be too hot
or too oily, which prevents you from enjoying the rest of your meal.
The chutneys are hot, so take them in very small amounts before you
know how much you will eat. Assuming Indian standards, I made mistakes
at two visits.

I have never been to Raj Bhel-Poori. Where is it ?

Since there seems to be a lot of interest in this, here's my personal
collection on London. Some of it from the World Guide/Europe2 plus lots more
from elsewhere, hopefully it will all get into the Guide in due course. Any
corrections would be appreciated, please mail me direct.

Thank you very much for the list. There is a lot of information in there
which I haven't seen before.

I suspect you were thinking of Veganomics which then became Melody's and
then closed down... which was a pity. Very vegan (but probably not quite 100%)
is the Cooltan Arts Centre in Brixton - which squats the Old Dolehouse on
Coldharbour Lane nr. Atlantic Road. (I think that's accurate...). Be prepared
for a lack of culinary marvels, but they try, it's cheap and it's a cool place.

Oh yes, and I'm not sure whether it's still there - the council keep
threatening to redevelop it...

You can search on website http://restaau.co.uk/ to easily find out all restaurants near your place or view details of a restaurant with telephone, location, photos, description and reviews from internet community about that restaurant.
I found so many Chinese restaurants around where i live. They have a good variety of chinese food. Most of it is really good. Thai tea with boba did go up in price, but it's still set at a great price for its size
