According to the nutrition articles I've read, a food item should have no
more than 3 grams of fat per 100 calories in order to be considered "low
fat". I don't have a Morningstar Farms package in front of me right
now, but I know I've checked this fat/calorie ratio on them and they do seem
to follow this guideline. Therefore, at least according to these guidelines,
the Morningstar Farm Grillers are considered low fat.
Also worth a look are the Green Giant shamburgers and faux-sages. They are a
bit pricy (as are all the fak-o-meats) but good. The southwestern style works
well cut up into refried beans for making burritos. The breakfast patties
microwave well, too. Put one of them on a siced, toasted bagel.

The best veggie burger by far is Morningstar Farms. Not only is it
delicious but it's also the lowest in fat that I've seen. We even served
it to our guests for a 4th of July cookout! Anyone agree?

I do!!! They do contain egg white but I eat eggs so it doesn't bother
me. Their breakfast sausage patties are very good too as are their
breakfast links (but the patties are better). I did not care for their
bacon strips though, they wouldn't fool anyone.

I think the Vegi Burger is great but the "Griller" is not that good. The
sim-chicken makes a great sandwich and the sim-suasage make a good breakfast
ad on. Gree Giants Mexican and Italian Harverst Burgers are really great
also.
But did you notice the Green Giant Harvestburgers use hyrogenated fat?

I've found that the Grillers are _really_ greasy.. so much that I started
buying the Healthy Foods "Vege-" line, instead. Now _that's_ a great
vege-burger!
Tracey
Grillers are o.k. if you barbecue or fry them...(yes they
do tend to be greasier than most veggie burgers)
However, I don't recommend microwaving them....I've tried
this and they turn out floppy and chewy -- ick!

: I still think that the Morningstar Grillers are the best. The Green
Giant ones are fairly good, too.
Sorry, have to disagree about the Green Giant version. To me, they're
too pale and mushy...no real burger taste like Morningstar.
But it's true...you just can't argue taste.

I've tried many different veggie burgers and find that the GardenBurger
is the best. This is a frozen burger that major grocery stores now carry.

The New York Times in Wednesday's paper (January 3, 1994) had a rather
extensive rating of vegetarian burgers, in case anyone is interested in that
paper's view on the subject.

I'm new to this thread, so forgive me if someone else has already
mentioned this: I think Ken & Robert's Veggie Burgers (Patties?)
are very good. They're made by the people who bring you (Ken &
Robert's) veggie pockets (which I believe are vegan). It's a
toss-up for me between K&R and Gardenburgers. They both have good
flavor and texture without tasting like sausage (like Grillers do).
I can only get it at my local co-op, though, while the Green Giant,
Grillers, and GardenBurger varieties seem a lot more easily
obtainable....
Just my 2 cents,
