Besides having several original topic forums, Foodbanter is
unfortunately also just an interface to several Usenet newsgroups,
like this one rec.food.sourdough, a newsgroup about sourdough bread.
Posts and threads, and spam posts (like the previous one) which
originate in foodbanter are directed to this newsgroup
rec.food.sourdough, and foodbanter pick up posts/threads from RFS and
displays them in foodbanter web page.
Spam posts which originate in foodbanter are out of reach to
moderation board in foodbanter, because once the message has been
posted via FB, it ends up to Usenet where moderators of FB have no
any control.
Spammers like the previous one find foodbanter as just another tool
to post their spam to Usenet newsgroups. Moderators there in
foodbanter perhaps can "remove" this thread or the OP's spam post,
and it will no longer be visible to you in foodbanter, but
unfortunately it stays forever in RFS.
Ditch the foodbanter address and interface, because many, many people
in food related newsgroups have foodbanter in their killfile filters,
and can't see any posts nor threads which originate from foodbanter;
Get yourself a regular newsreader, (for example Thunderbird or
Mozilla mailer is also a good Usenet newsreader, MS Outlook Express
is a good basic Usenet reader), or pick up another one freeware like
MicroPlanet Gravity, or Xnews, or OSXnews, etc...
Then subscribe to rec.food.* newsgroup hierarchy, and you'll get much
more replies to meaningful posts and/or recipe requests etc...
