My loverly wife just made a few pints of pickled sweet chile slices this
morning. We have been getting buckets (10 quart) of chiles about every
other day. The freezer is full of chopped, vacuum sealed chiles for
cooking. She found the recipe in one of our preserving books (I didn't
look to see which one.) We think they will make a nice sandwich pickle
so we shall see in about three weeks. She used Pickle Crisp so I hope
they are truly crisp.
I'm still under the weather with severe sinusitis, taking a decongestant
and sulfa drugs at doctor's orders. Makes me sleepy all the time. The
only good thing about getting old is that is better than the alternative.
