Dominic: Is Zhang Ping Shui Hsian the same as Shui Xian?
|
| |
I emailed Upton asking if they carry Shui Xian. I got a reply pointing me to Zhang Ping Shui Hsian: [link]. Can you tell me if is similar to what you meant when you suggested Shui Xian? The Upton tea comes in 9g "mini bricks". Is this how Shui Xian is usually packed? Thanks

Fermented tea by the pound
|
| |
This $10/5lb bag tea comes from Xing Hua Food, Xin Xui District, Jiang Men City, GuangDong. [link] Normally a cheap bulk oolong restaurant tea wouldnt get me excited except in this case for the location and leaf grade with a little etymology thrown in. GuangDong can no longer use the term Puer to... more »

Do they all still have a typical, distinctive, earthy pu-erh aroma, or they greatly differ ? I don't mean differences in quality, I mean differences in... more »

Cup #1 v cup #3 v cup #5
|
| |
As I continue testing various teas and brewing parameters, I have noticed that some teas get better after a few cups and some get worse. These are all from the same pot and usually consumed within a few hours from a glass-lined thermos. Can I conclude anything about the tea itself or the way I brewed it... more »

Teavana the cosmetic counter for tea
|
| |
I finally figured out the business model for Teavana. Have you ever noticed in the mall one entry level of the department stores alway makes you walk through the brightly lite cosmetic counter area. I pity the poor guys whose wifes or girlfriends cant resist. The gals behind the counter do the hard sell. They have to be working on... more »

Online Tea Vendors - direct from India - Info and request
|
| |
Hi all, I posted a very long time ago about buying tea straight from India, but I don't think I ever followed up with what I ultimately found out. I thought I would do that, in case the info is useful to anyone, and also pick the group's brain for some more information. Note: I am *not* affiliated with any of these vendors.... more »
