A gaiwan may be the best choice then, clean
it out with a small wooden spoon, or a plastic
spoon. Then flush with a bit of water.
Bodum mugs with glass infusers are also
very good for an office. Generally I'd want an
infuser with a few holes and no mesh, and
the best material would be glass.
Before I bought an IngenuiTEA, I used to use a common cooking
strainer. I have one that is about 3-4" in diameter, has a very fine
screen mesh, and a wooden handle. I would brew the tea in the teapot
without an infuser, then pour it into me cup or thermos through the
strainer.
The strainer is easily emptied by turning it over and rapping it
sharply on the edge of the garbage can. It has two little ears that
make this very easy.
Here's one at Amazon:
I think you can find one for $1-2 at any supermarket or drug store (in
the USA).
I have liked the People's Brew Basket from Republic of Tea. You should
wash it in the sink now and then, though.

I like cotton bag infusers. This one here I buy at Stockholm Tea
Centre, but it is made in Germany. Should be available in well stocked
tea shops;

It sells for abt $4 US.

You might want to try TeaSpot's Steepin Cup. It's really easy, no mess
and easy to clean. there is more information about it here--

i use one like in this picture, not the actual one though
mine is basic white as i am a guy.
was 9 bux in store
at work i cut 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper (standard paper size) in half
and have a neat pile on my desk
after steeping i tip the infuser on the paper, use finger to wipe out
leaves, fold up paper and usualy staple shit. so it does not open in
wastebasket.and am fine
i never wash out the infuser part.
for white i use the same ceramic/porcelin infuser, but use a clear
mug, so i can enjoy the color
i do have two infusers at work, so i can do two steepings of white,
leave it
then do to of another tea in second infuser
sometimes to mix it up, near the end of day. i get the leaves that i
have steeped a few times each in seperate infuser, and put in one
infuser and get a nice final mix brew.
