I'm hoping that someone in this group will remember Billy Mood, aka
Lim Whui Hua, of Singapore. His website www.modeep.com used to be one
of the finest on the internet at explaining different methods of
brewing tea in fine Yixing teapots. You can view some of his work at
http://www.terebess.hu/english/yixing1.html. He suddenly disappeared
from my radars in 2002. Can anyone help me out? Please feel free to
reply offlist.

I bought several fine Yixing teapots from Billy in 1999. I understood that
he had some kind of brain hemorrhage or similar medical situation. I got my
information third-hand, but I was told that he finally was released from the
hospital, but I never saw any more activity on his website, nor did I hear
anything else from him. Some of us who bought pots from him assumed that
he had died.

Incidentally, there is no way on earth I would use the boiling/freezing
method to prepare any of my Yixing teapots for use, whether they were
purchased from Mr. Mood or not. I know of at least one person who used this
method without disaster, but it seems rather extreme and unnecessary to me.
Talk about your trials by fire (and ice)!

I saw the site http://www.terebess.hu/english/yixing1.html right now.
I just want to express my congratulation to Billy Mood for his excellent
work. Why pages like this are not found by net-browsers?

If you could find her, you might express your congratulations/condolences to
his wife, because there is a very good chance the man is now dead.
